Multidrectional Impact Protection System
All GIRO helmets are made of liners that deform (destroy) on impact and reduce the energy transmitted to the brain.And MIPS is the technology used to further enhance safety.The MIPS-equipped helmet consists of three components to disperse the impact energy in the event of a crash.An interior foam liner, a low friction liner, and an elastomeric accessory system that connects the two.These three components act to rotate the inner liner and the outer node shell independently when subjected to an oblique impact (twisting impact), cushioning the impact.Its range of motion is only a few millimeters, but it may make a difference whether or not this few millimeters will cause serious injury.Check out the MIPS movie for details
