Southern Taiwan surfing trip (1)

Hello, this is CAP.This summer was different from last year's citywave field work, and I was spending time with various work.If you notice it, it's September. It's still hot outside, but it's gradually switched to winter mode. This winter as well, I will continue to work as an exclusive guide for OZ's on-site support and MINT TOUR who will be visiting Aizu in Japan. Before, we still have to sell Aizu products, so this year's third Australian business has started.

LCC is cheap these days. It's a lie when I think about it since I was betting my life to save miles someday. It should be cheap. The first destination this time is Perth, Western Australia. However, I found it cheaper to go via Taiwan, so I decided to stop by Kaohsiung, which is located in the south of Taiwan.

Actually, I will aim for Kenting, which is about two and a half hours further south from Kaohsiung by bus.I came here last month, but the southernmost peninsula area in Taiwan is also a mecca for surfing in Taiwan, and this time of year, the typhoon season makes waves somewhere in the area. Moreover, there are few people and the rice is delicious.Prices are also cheap.Of course you can surf in trunks. This is my recent boom.

A cute map at the supermarket on the way.Just in the middle of the map is Kenting. In Japan, it has the atmosphere of Shirahama in Izu.The "night market" with open air on both sides of the road is also famous and has many tourists.Jialeisui, which is visited by many Japanese surfers on the east side of the peninsula, Nanwan where the bay in the middle of the map is the most depressed, Baisha on the west side, and the main point of Kenting. There are several points within 30 minutes by bike. It's nice to be able to wander while consulting with the direction of the wind and swell. Moreover, there are few people everywhere. This is also nice.

The bike costs 24 yuan in 500 hours. About 1,500 yen.The rental is very smooth because there is a motorcycle rental shop next to the inn where I have been staying recently. If you look up the information, you will need a license certificate translated into Chinese, but there is no problem with an international driver's license. However, the difficulty is that there is no board rack. Therefore, driving while being blown by the wind on the shoulder-mounted hard case is a test of courage. This is quite stressful, so in the morning and evening you can play on the main beach, which is a 1-minute walk from the inn.

Unfortunately, the typhoon swell has not arrived. The forecast is a little off, but if the tide goes down, you can enjoy it with a small wave of about 2ft.It seems that it is raining a lot in the mountains, and the water that flows out makes it a lot of chocolate milk.Last month it was a tropical country that shines in emerald blue, but this time it's a color that seems to make me hungry.A little ...

However, if you ride a motorcycle a little and get away from the river, the sea will be emerald!Somehow Japanese Ishigaki and Miyakojima-like atmosphere. It is a landscape with a sense of intimacy, which is completely different from Bali.To put it the other way around, is it the same feeling when Taiwanese travel to Japan? When. That's why visits to Japan will be popular. The scenery, food, and shops that are always in contact with each other (although it is sober, there are many Seven and FamilyMart stores). It's great to enjoy exoticism, but there's probably a reason why there are so many repeaters. It's a journey where something close to the environment in which we live now exists. This is quite important when it comes to "ordinary travel" ...
