Original board shorts company QUIKSILVER has announced an apparel collaboration with street lifestyle brand Saturdays NYC.
This collaboration celebrates the love of surf culture that both brands share, connecting the field of MOUNTAIN & WAVE with the city, creating fashionable yet functional items that can be enjoyed in both. It seems to be expanding.
Saturdays NYC was founded in 2009 as an homage to the surf culture its founders grew up in, and was heavily influenced by QUIKSILVER's "Echo Beach" movement.Also,Their vision is to reimagine surf apparel from a streetwear perspective, drawing inspiration from surrounding cities, art, music, fashion and skate culture, while maintaining a strong connection to the beach.
Similarly, since its founding in 1969, QUIKSILVER has been deeply rooted in surfing and skate culture, positioning the brand to have a significant impact on the continued evolution of boardsports culture and apparel.
Now, QUIKSILVER's brand heritage and Saturdays NYC's modern coastal taste have come together to create a special capsule collection that combines style and function, expressing the past and future of surf culture.
The "QUIKSILVER x Saturdays NYC Collection" includes snowwear, surf gear, and streetwear that can be worn in the mountains, at the beach, and in the city. Saturdays NYC selects favorite items from QUIKSILVER's archives and designs a versatile apparel range from a high fashion perspective.The artwork features original artwork by New York-based artist Sean Kennedy.Both brands' unique aesthetics are evident throughout, including QUIKSILVER's iconic scalloped boardshorts and Saturdays NYC's sophisticated urban design work.
Commenting on the collaboration, Saturdays NYC co-founder Morgan Collette said:

It was a dream come true to work together on this collaboration.
