GOLDWIN INC. Will open "The North Face STANDARD Kyoto Store" on Saturday, January 2016, 1 in Kyoto, a city of old and new history and four seasons.
The "THE NORTH FACE STANDARD Kyoto store" that will open this time is the third store following the "STANDARD" in Harajuku and Futakotamagawa, Tokyo, and is a road surface type shop.
Based on the concept of "STANDARD OF LIVING PACKAGE", we propose THE NORTH FACE as a tool to connect the city and nature with total coordination.
Men's, women's, and functional and stylish apparel and gear are available on the 1st and 2nd floors, and a gallery space is set up on the 3rd floor to hold art events and workshops on a regular basis.
For users who enjoy outdoor style while laying the foundation of life in the city, we will provide total direction for products that combine the functions and design of THE NORTH FACE, as well as space, and respond appropriately to the diversity and individualization of the evolving market. Tetsuya Nagato Taro Mizutani Objects and landscapes, fragments and cross sections, and the perspectives of two people who intersect.
Along with the opening of "THE NORTH FACE STANDARD Kyoto Store", an exhibition "STILL SCAPE document" will be held in the gallery space on the 3rd floor of the store, in collaboration with artist Tetsuya Nagato and photographer Taro Mizutani.
Following the presentation at la kagu in Kagurazaka, Tokyo in May 2015 and the exhibition at FROM WHERE I STAND in Fukuoka, Hakata in September of the same year, this is the third STILL SCAPE.
Under the theme of "document", this work presents photographs / three-dimensional works created from the unique perspectives of two people, with fragments and cross sections of objects and landscapes.
A photographic work of a cross section of Detroit agate, which was born from the lamination of waste paint during the transitional period of the automobile industry in Detroit, USA.
On the other hand, three-dimensional works and photographic works that collage a fictitious mountain landscape are exhibited.
This is an exhibition of works consisting of proof of the perspectives of two artists (documents) based on various methods such as folding, rubbing, shaving, and taking pictures.
From 1:29 to 18:00 on January 21th (Friday), the opening reception will be held by the artist in the hall to coincide with the store opening preview.
The general public can also enter, so please come visit us.
