The terrain session event "MOUNTAIN WAVE" held in Hakuba in the latter half of the season was held again this year from Saturday, April 4th to Sunday, April 6th.The event's unique contest "Tweak World Championship" and Goryu Banked Slalom will be held within the same schedule as last year.Participating users enjoyed spring snowboarding in the terrain & banked for two days.We will deliver the pattern immediately.
LIVE NATURALLY Park + Special Spine Terrain Session
This MOUNTAIN WAVE is produced by Mr. Filmer YONE of the film production "LIVE NATURALLY" that combines snow, surf and skate culture.This season, Hakuba Goryu's artificial terrain park was permanently set up and attracted attention.
This year's event added a new special spine to the permanent terrain park, with a full-day park session on Saturday.Various events and competitions were held all over the country this weekend, and the peak time of the spring event was reached, but the participants gathered here in Goryu are quite a lot of terrain freaks.Hakuba local 247 Masashi Nishina, HACHI crew Masateru Kitae, Yuta Kobayashi, Keita Yamazaki, Ryu Yamashita, Marcos, Hayato Maruyama from GENEMSTICK, Kazushige Fujita, Rei Igarashi, GREEN CLOTHING Taguchi, Yasuto Yoshino, Jiro Nakayama , Naoki Ito, and many other riders and locals representing the Hakuba / Nagano area gathered.
Although it was a condition with occasional gusts, the weather was fine all day long, and riding in the rough snow in the spring was the most comfortable.The attraction of this event is not a rugged tournament, but a loose FUN session that seems to be horizontal in the cheerful spring weather.It was impressive to see many snowboarders, from adults to young people and kids, enjoying snowboard sessions purely beyond the barriers of generation.
At noon, the "Tweak World Championship" is held with the main item spine.With the addition of riders who were forced to enter by voluntary entry & YONE, there were about 55 participants.A serious game for each person!Young people who are expected to play an active role in the future, showing various styles of tweaks with different personalities.Rion Maeda brilliantly shined in the champ.It goes without saying that the participants were absorbed in the jump session while hiking the spine after that.
Goryu Banked who stepped on the bank and won
The next day, this from last yearGoryu Banked Slalom, which joined MOUNTAIN WAVE, was held.A banked course will be set up next to the terrain park, centered on Mr. YONE, who left the second place result in the master class of Tenjin Banked this season.This year, a course featuring a bank with a rhythmic and well-balanced interval and a series of persistent shots was completed.Since the course is made on a gently sloping burn, it is necessary to accelerate while pumping in the first half.Also, depending on the corner, the bank was long and dotted with sections like "bank bowls", and the length of this bank also had a habit of misleading the slipper's footsteps.From the middle, banks are lined up at tighter intervals at a good tempo, and the speed also follows.I had to pump to accelerate in the first half of the section and step on the banks in each corner to get a high time, so I was tired of my legs after I stepped too far from the start to the goal and finished slipping.However, the spacing and size of the banks are exquisite, and the slope is gentle, so you can attack as a whole.It was such an interesting course that I wanted to skate forever and had withdrawal symptoms.
Participation classes are divided into 6 classes: junior, young, master, skiing, open, and snow skating. The snow was a little tighter on the second run than on the first run, and most people had a higher time on the second run.
Starting with a terrain park session on Saturday, a free party at the Tracks bar near the slopes in the evening, and Banked on Sunday, it was the most enjoyable spring day.If you haven't participated in this event, I highly recommend you to participate next year.You will surely know more about the charm of spring snowboarding!
