STONP.It is a crew of Japanese riders who are world-class, led by Kazuhiro Kokubo. However, there are many people who thought that their activities as a crew would end with the final work "STONP OR DIE" released in 2015.However, on February 2th last year, STONP suddenly released a short movie. That was "ZETSURIN 15"."ZETSURIN", which was the restart of STONP and attracted a lot of attention as a new challenge, was held this season as well. It's "ZETSURIN 2017".To explore behind the scenes, we talked to Seiki Toda and Shouma Takao, who were deeply involved in the management of this event.

Last season it was a complete invitation system, but please tell us why you held the qualifying session.
I don't think there are many Japanese snowboarders who are slamming the streets. But that doesn't mean it isn't.Rather, the people who are doing it are all hot people.Of course, there are many cool riders. However, I think they don't even know how to get out into the world. We held a qualifying session to hook up such people. The motivation of the people who participated was amazing, and in a good way, there were many people who were scary.
What was the content of the main race?
Last year, the competition-like aspect of choosing the best rider was strong, but this time I focused on the original way of expressing the street, such as who will leave a dangerous image. As a result, the riders were more aggressive than last year, and I think that the feeling of the session improved and dangerous tricks were carried out one after another.
What do you want to convey through this movie?
I want to tell the world that there are cool young riders in Japan as well. This hasn't changed since last year.
Did you have any interesting episodes?
It seems that the winning rider from the qualifying session went to Susukino for a drink after the event. If I drank it in a place like a girl's bar, it seems that the accounting became Nantes 33 yen (laugh)

How was ZETSURIN this season?
I had the qualifying session held at SNOVA Mizonokuchi and SNOVA Hashima, and the enthusiasm of the winning riders from there was amazing.Anyway, I was eager to convey my spirit to leave a dangerous image.Their slippery and aggressive attitude also ignited Tyler Lynch and Johnny O'Connor who were participating in the invitation. They also said, "Hey guys, that's dangerous!"
Has anything changed with the addition of sections?
I think we were able to make the most of the riders' imagination by having sessions not only on the rails but also on the bowls built on the roof of the building and by increasing the number of items compared to last year.
Will ZETSURIN be held in the future?
I would like to continue to move to discover new talents like ZET SURIN. I want to send out movies like ZETSURIN, and personally I'd like to have a show-like event. The number of tournaments has decreased recently compared to the past, hasn't it?We got to know our name at the tournament and appeared in magazines, but I don't think there are many chances like that now. That's why I'd like to continue to create a place where riders who are making more dangerous movements on the street can be attracted.
Check out the movie of the main battle from the following!
