FreerideWorldQualifier4 ☆ @ Hakuba

At Happoone

@ Happo-o-ne, Hakuba, Japan

The Fourth Phase is complete and Travis Rice is back with a minimal filming crew (one filmer)!

Travis Rice is came back to Nagano with one filmer after The Fourth Phase's big filming project in 2years ago.one filmer. One brain!

On the first day of coming to Nagano, we stayed at Zenkoji's inn, cleansed ourselves with vegetarian food, and the next day, we experienced the morning affairs of Zenkoji at sunrise.

While living at the knees of Zenkoji, I also experienced it for the first time.Travis is really digging the latest and ancient culture of Japan and is really interested in Japan and trying to study. There is an image of oraora, but he is a very gentle and delicate big man.

Travis and his crew stayed at Zenko-ji's shukhbou for experience the Japanese ancient buddhism culture.had Shoujin-ryouri dinner full of Vegies.no meat.which buddhist had it before going to temple or daily.then woke up before sunrise to experience the O -asa-ji at Zenkoji.its daily work for monks.Hard core Japanese culture.good for your soul.

then We moved to “no snow yet” Hakuba.after spent few days, it started to snowing like Nuts ,, 3days, over 1meter like 4feet.

One night there came Mik ”Shark puncher” Fanning from ocean of Australia, so we went to see him to say Hi!

From there, I moved to Hakuba before it snowed. Heavy snow starts 3 days later.Heavy snowfall exceeding 3m in 1 days in Hakuba village.

Hakuba's winter has finally begun!

One night, in July 2015, Mick Fanning, a super-famous Australian professional surfer who won the championship the following year, was bitten by a shark at the World Surf League's African tournament and punched to avoid a challenge (although there are pros and cons). I went to see you.I've become very close.Respect.

At Hakuba 47.I often see people like beer and festivals from before, but this person was elaborate. ..So one piece to commemorate

Japan is a wonderland ,,

He said he wanted to do free riding, but in the end he shot a lot.day to day. There aren't many days when I'm busy and skate from morning till night, but it's hard.

Moreover, let's go to the tournament! So, I participated in the four-star event of Qualifier, which is the qualifying league of Freeride World Tours from Switzerland, which is the first in Japan and Asia, with a wild card.I draw the most in the lottery that decides the starting order! That's a no-track!I was wondering if I would slip on the bumps anyway, so I was promised powder and I felt better. The tournament is always tense, but in reality I don't do much.

The day before the tournament, when it snowed almost without a base, the location of the venue was announced, and all the participants walked to see it.The photo above.I can't see the white and detailed terrain, but for an extreme tournament, I should go to the rocky place on the left, but for me who is always sliding in this area, it looks like a trap.It looks good but the snow is thin, so let's enjoy the snow and the terrain.I always skate on the point that I think it's good, so let's enjoy the slopes and snow to the fullest.I came to think.I thought about the rightmost line, the left side of the right slope, before going to bed, no, before the start. After all, I made it to the left.Snow is powder on the knees.I thought it was a heavy load to slip on a slope without a truck at all, but I had no choice but to slip, so I did it freely.I was aiming for a spine-to-spine transfer, but the landing process of the spine before that made it difficult to get the perfect line, and the transfer was sick, but I finished without any trouble.I was wondering if I would make a miracle by turning and attacking, but I calmed down and finished straight. As a result, we are in second place after Travis!I did it.

The tournament organizers were so happy that they didn't think the Japanese would be on the podium.I don't know how great the other riders are, but I've come to them with a lot of life, so I did it at this tournament!I was so happy!Recently, the number of trophies that I thought I had little connection with was increasing.

Even so, Travis was amazing.I was shown a terrible slip that the ranking did not change even if I made a miracle.

Travis covers the risk of getting sick and makes a full make-up.Is it shooting?too cool.None of the riders were watching Travis' B7 point.I didn't wear my own line, but the aim was too great.I have to take off my hat.

Then, the end day of a week storming, there was an Asian's first held FreerideWorldTours4stars event in Hakuba and We decided to enter it. Mostly Travis's decision, but. I pulled no.1start on rottery and this photo above was the venue.side of Happo-o-ne. I rode knee deep steep pow and hit pillow and spines. Travis did big B7 and F3 combo.Of course he Won and I got 2nd! We went bed not late after event's party in village because next day is THE DAY.

In the headwinds of Japan's recent trend of why we do dangerous things, we are striving to hold an extreme event in a situation that ordinary people can not understand, even if it is the best and it is incredibly fun for those who participate. Hakuba Village Tourism Bureau, FWT Japan staff, some (!) Local guide companies, many people who helped us, Europe, Canada, America Please come to Japan to participate from all over the world. Thank you to all the riders and thank you for your hard work.

It is pretty ununderstandable to “think safe” Japanese main stream thinking people to having “Extreme” backcountry event in Japan. There still guys who hating this event such as racist skiers in Happo, but there more people who wanted to have this event in Japan .Thanks maximum to them and all the riders and Hakuba Tourism and FWT japan's staff and everyone who supported .. and fans and friends .. This meant a lot to Japan and I'm stoked on my podium.

Then, the next morning, the shooting days of my main business resumed.

Shooting snowboards in the backcountry with the aim of making people happy is extremely difficult due to various factors. Moreover, when the opponent is Travis Rice, it is one of the best in the world.Justin, who came from Filmer, thank you very much.

The footage of this trip will be edited and announced this summer.

I will continue to do my best! It's fun and can't be helped!

Tattered body!Body care is just as important as slipping to get the best performance.

No need to rush.Dedicated daily with the spirit of enlightenment.
