Contest Report sent by Ki Inamura Inam Life # 4 Japan Edition FIS All Japan Championship & AIR MIX

The 4th installment of Inam Life, where rider Ki Inamura battles the world and cuts out the current contest scene from the rider's perspective! This time, we will deliver the pattern of the current Japanese contest that you feel when you come back to Japan.

In March, events and competitions are held almost every week in Japan. FIS All Japan Championship (Slopestyle & Big Air), AIR MIX, which is a hot topic in huge spines, Jump & Jib Contest COWDAY, which is sponsored by milk soap, and Hammer Banger, a big kicker session that will be held from this year. Session.Actually, I also wanted to participate in all the events, but I could only participate in AIR MIX and COWDAY because of the discomfort in my broken ankle in December ... (crying)

FIS All Japan Championship

This tournament, which decides the best domestic competition scene in Japan, was held at Gunma Snow Park Oze Tokura. There were two types of big air and slopestyle here, but I've been watching the slopestyle. This tournament is also a tournament that selects members of the national team next year, so it is a very important tournament for riders who want to join the national team and aim for the Pyeongchang Olympics next year.

The prepared courses are flat-up-flat rail, transfer rail that can be transferred from up rail to down rail, and two jib sections and two kickers, 16m and 20m double kickers from there.

From the left, Yuri Okubo (RIDE) in 2nd place, Hiroaki Kunitake (RIDE) in 1st place, and Keita Inamura (MURASAKI) in 3rd place. The winner was Hiroaki Kunitake, who made a wonderful make-up from the front side double cork 1080 to the back side double cork 1260. Second place is Yuri Okubo, who connected the front side 2 to the back side 1080. Keita Inamura, who connected the cab 1260 to the backside 3 in 900rd place. In this tournament, slipping in the jib section greatly affected the ranking.

After watching this tournament, I realized again that the Japanese jumping skills are at a fairly high level.Especially in terms of "goodness of omission", I felt that "missing" was made more beautiful than overseas riders. This is probably due to the environment where you can practice repeatedly with low risk due to the development of mat facilities such as KINGS.For the Japanese who are inferior in physique, mastering the "missing" may become one of the important points for fighting in the world.

And I would like to give only one personal opinion.
I think this tournament was at the SAJ (Ski Association of Japan), which is sponsored by the aim of "installing a 20M class kicker and a difficult jib and making it a high-level trick battle" like the world tournament. In fact, high-level items were prepared to match it.We rarely see such high-level courses in domestic slopestyle competitions. However, due to the slope of the course and the shape of the terrain, it seemed that there was a slight sense of force in making this course. Therefore, I felt that the riders were slipping a little cramped. "This tournament is a tournament to identify the players who can compete in the world," the organizer said.In that case, I would like to expect to create a course that can fully demonstrate the performance of riders, not a course that requires the size of items.

AIR MIX

AIR MIX was not held last year due to lack of snow. The sight of many riders gathering in Niigata / GALA Yuzawa, pushing themselves and flying through a huge spine is exciting to the viewer.I think the expression "festival" is more appropriate than a tournament.

There are two sections, from a 14M kicker to a 20M giant spine.Judges seem to see it with about 2% kicker and 3% spine. The final day of the Super Final was blessed with fine weather and was in good condition.

The current competition scene is a scoring competition and tricks such as triple cork are complicated, so it is difficult for the viewer to know who won at first glance. In comparison, this AIR MIX is an easy-to-understand and simple system in which the rider who flew away with a spine wins.I think it's an interesting tournament where the audience can get together and get excited.I want many snowboarders to watch it.
