GUJO OPEN

PSA ASIA Snowboard Pro Tour special event

March 2016, 3 (Sun) PSA ASIA Snowboard Pro Tour Special Event GUJO OPEN was held at Takasu Snow Park.

As a sanctuary with a world-class super pipe in Gujo City, the name of the tournament was decided with the hope that something could be transmitted.

It is the place where the bronze medalist and Gujo city ambassador Taku Hiraoka grew up at the Sochi Olympics, and it is also a resort that many professional snowboarders often visit as a practice ground.

Global Snow Design Crew is shaping the best super pipe.

se3

Today's stage is Japan's largest super pipe with a total length of 140m and a wall height of 6m, and the men's and women's qualifying starts first.

Since this is a special event, we have adopted a jam session method that allows you to run as many runs as you like within the time limit, instead of adopting the best points in the conventional two runs.

And to the final game with 8 boys and 4 girls.

Since it wasn't a bib order start because it was a jam qualifying, it was Naito Ando who was riding an eye-catching style and height while not knowing which rider would drop.

The first tail grab was arguably the tallest.

And while being an amateur at last year's Pro Tour, he went up to the podium in 3rd place and this year's rookie Okamoto Ko.

Routine to put 900 in stable air and advance to the final with plenty of room.

And Raibu Katayama had an overwhelming presence in riding, although the bib number could not be confirmed no matter how many times he looked at it.

From last year's experience of world battles, height, style, routine difficulty, and smooth bottom riding were the norm.

Yuto Totsuka, the champion of the previous race, and Yasutoshi Yamagata have also put out a routine that can afford to incorporate 1080, followed by Kazumitsu Anai, Shinko Imai, and Ruka Hirano to the final stage.

Sena Tomita decided the backside 540, cork 720 and mellow 540 as much as the routine, while the height of the girls was not noticeable because of the qualifying mixed with the boys.

And Kurumi Imai, whose height was outstanding among the girls,

The flat style with perfect spin also passed the qualifying with plenty of room.

Takashi Tamada and others who won the halfpipe last year and won the second place in the tournament five days ago.

It was a riding that put 540 combinations in a stable air, but unfortunately he lost the qualifying because the height was suppressed.

Rina Kazama and Kiyono Minami, who had won with height and momentum, advanced to the final stage.

The temperature does not rise even in the daytime when the final starts, probably because of the strong winds that blow occasionally.

The bottom was getting rough due to jam session riding, but thanks to the maintenance of the GSD digger crew, it was in good condition.

And when the best conditions were in place, the final started with the previous run of Gujo City Ambassador Taku Hiraoka, which was introduced at the beginning.

The spectators were filled on both sides of the judge house under the bottom, and the spectators were excited by the big indie grab over the PSA flying banner that was fascinated by the US OPEN and X-GAME.

In the midst of that excitement, Rina Kazama started with girls and decided on the first one.

Make indie, backside 540, 540, melancholy, 360 with no mistakes.

Sena Tomita, who started in the top, unfortunately the first run was a fall, but the second run is higher than the qualifying.

The indie, backside 540, cork 720, cab 360, 540 and spin combination also attracted a run that can be expected to score high.

Kurumi Imai splendidly sparked the first run while other girls fell and restrained.

Perfectly deciding the 900, which is the only trick for girls, the routine finishes with a high melancholy to 900, backside 540, 720, cab 360 and a spin combination that does not drop to the end.

And I hoped for the second run, which requires more expectations, but at 2 I fell down and was taken to the patrol.

Unfortunately, I couldn't run the third run and became DNS, so I couldn't participate in the award ceremony, but even so, the first Super Run marked the 3-point range and won the championship.

Then the men's final round

Raibu Katayama has attacked with the perfect winning routine in the first run.

From the oversized rodeo 540 inn, the backside 900 and 1080 cab double corks that do not drop in height are decided cleanly and the finish is 900 with a margin.

The audience was the most excited.

Yasutoshi Yamagata couldn't make a convincing run with the first and second runs, but the third run was a splendid spark.

I decided to cab 1080, 720, backside 900 from 540 in which has been improving from the qualifying, and the last hit was a double cork 1080 and a guts pose.

And the third run of Naito Ando, whose height was conspicuous from the qualifying, also draws the podium with 3 from the oversized big method air, 1080 from the cab double cork 1080, and 720 from 1080 with the cab 1080 and XNUMX combo.

Yuto Totsuka, Ko Okamoto, and Kazumitsu Anai also showed a routine to put in 1080, but who won the championship while the points did not increase one step and did not reach the podium? ?? ??

Raibu Katayama was also showing off his overwhelming riding, such as trying 2 for the second run in a situation where it was not known who would win until the result came out.

His first run was in the high 90s, and he escaped as it was, resulting in his first victory.

And another side event of GUJO OPEN, "Chibikko Camp" by male and female finalist coaching was held.

se7

A plan in which more than 20 children who participated in the event watch the tournament live and slide with the winning professional riders to teach.

I was very impressed by the serious eyes of all the children, such as some children who enjoyed sliding with professionals, and some children who boldly attacked walls that were more than 10 times taller.

se6

After the camp, I think it was a memorable event for children, such as taking a commemorative photo with a professional and getting autographed paper. ?? ??

And about five years later, I think there will be some riders who will become professionals and play an active role. ?? ??

We would like to thank Mr. Washimi of the Sports Promotion Division of the Gujo City Board of Education and Mr. Koji Sugimoto, the representative of Burton School, for setting up a wonderful project for the next generation.
