The merit of [FASTEC (rear entry)] that Yuji Usui thinks that "it will react so much in all directions"

SP binding has a [Fastech] mounting system. What kind of positive effect does this system have on riding?I asked Yuji Usui.

What is Fastech?

There is no heel cup, and the rear entry system is installed by raising the high back and pushing the entire foot toward the tip of the toe.

-Current"sLAB.ONEPlease tell us the reason why you chose the model equipped with [Fastech].

Usui:I thought, "I want a sense of unity with the board."When I first put it on, it was already a shock.I expected that the reaction would be good because of the structure, but I remember being surprised at the reaction that far exceeded my expectations that it would react so much in all directions.

— Is it so responsive?

Usui:It's very fast. The sole of the foot has a strong sensation of sticking to the binding, and it reacts in all directions like a joystick. On the other hand, the upper part from the ankle flexes like a hammock, so it does not interfere with movement. You can interact intimately with the snow surface on the soles of your feet while moving vigorously. That's the binding.

— What do you think [Fastech] is easy to use?

Usui:In addition to the speed of attachment and detachment, it can be installed with the same tightening every time. There is no "uneven tightening" because it is a structure that locks after setting the place to tighten in advance. So you can always slide under the same conditions. It's easy to overtighten competitions, but this system can prevent that.

— What are the benefits of using [Fastech]?

Usui:The toe side drag may still be tolerable (recoverable), but the heel cup drag (contact with the snow surface) on the heel side will lose edging at once.[Fastech] without a heel cup is effective in preventing drag.Even a thin board may be able to be captured by setting it closer to the heel, so please try it.
