Throwback Thursday: In 1988, Snowboarder Magazine released their premier issue, featuring Damien Sanders on the cover. The 2 main snowboard companies that year were Burton and Sims (The Sims add featured Tim Windell). A grassroots company called GNU was coming up through the ranks repped by heavy Northwest shedders. This was the year I started working on Sessions outerwear designs for my premier launch at SIA in early 1989. It was a time when companies were founded by people who were passionate about snowboarding – before other companies jumped in to cash in. -Joel Gomez. #alwayshavealwayswill #sessions #vintagesnowboard #snowboarder #snowboarding #snowboardermag ... I love my Sessions gear...Always have always will. Thanks Joel!
Great history bro
Damian riding plate bindings with hard shell boots with the top strap unbuckled. Burton and Sims had three straps on their bindings, toe, instep and shin. Great era with everyone experimenting. Kemper was on the move and would soon move into the number two spot in a few years.
I still have that pink headband Damian gave to me. He was pulling the sickest massive mute airs at the time. Tiny compared to today’s standards but was so bad ass at the time
Was cool being in The Who’s Hot Section with Joker and Gibbs!
Good times. I remember that time so well!!! Wow was it really 1988???????
I still got my sessions outer wear, but too small now, can I trade it in for a larger size...nos at all?
Did sessions ever make a snowboard my cousin has this brand new
Tell me if they made this board? I can't find it anywhere online
I still have all my old issues
Throwback Thursday: 1985 snowboarding was not permitted at 80% - 90% of the ski resorts around the world, but the smallest ski resort in Lake Tahoe, called Soda Springs would be holding the World Snowboard Championship that year. Funny looking back at this photo of me at the contest, wearing a wetsuit with a sweater, no helmet or goggles and having a beer sponsoring on the race bib. We were riding in Sorel boots with ski boot liners and a leash was mandatory on every snowboard. This contest was more of a Sims vs Burton for the most part. I was just stoked to meet other snowboarder from around the country. -Joel Gomez Photo by @budfawcett. #snowboarding #1985 #snowboarder #vintagesnowboard #alwayshavealwayswill @joelgomez1212 #sessions ... Throwback Thursday: Tricks or Style? For me it’s style, but I do have madd respect for rad tricks. 2 of the best snowboarders with style in my book are Jamie Lynn and Craig Kelly. What’s your pick? C Roach had amazing style
Tricks with style.
Dr. Jamie Lynn AUBURN,WA #auburncommawa
Definitely style, cause I can't do the crazy tricks! Just do you, snowboarding is for your soul, imo!
Jamie is one for sure. Roach, Ranquet, Noah Salasnek, but really the one which made it look so easy and fun was Terje. Surf the Earth!
Style with tricks 🤘
check this Method, no doubt about the style of Jamie Lynn. such an inspiration

Throwback Thursday: John Cardiel is by far one of the gnarliest skateboarders ever! We were privilege to have Cardiel as one of the Sessions team riders back in the early 90's. I think the year was 1992, when we did a signature Cardiel snowboard pant.
