Yukiko Kaneda

I think I first met Yuki at an event about three years ago.I was working for a manufacturer at that time, but a few months later I left the company and went to Canada without meeting Yuki-chan. It was April 3.
The day when I got a job at a cafe in downtown Vancouver and stood on the floor for the first time with excitement. The person was looking hard at the dessert in the showcase, and I noticed that his T-shirt was Sessions, and vaguely thought, "I'm a snowboarder." The person raised his face.It was Yuki-chan.

With that reunion, Yuki became my good counselor, sometimes a dessert companion, worked with me ... every time I met, every time I talked, he always inspired me, and in the back It is a very dope existence that makes you feel the depth.
At that time, in a foreign land far away, I wondered if I wouldn't have had an interview like this without that accidental reunion, and I can't help but think that life is so strange. Is Yuki-chan I know the same as Yukiko Kaneda who everyone knows or imagines?

-How is your waist injured in January?
Already perfect. I recovered in a month and returned to snowboarding in about 1 weeks in total.

-Even so, it's a little amazing to break three hip bones and return to snowboarding in five weeks.
I was lucky ... it didn't affect my muscles or nerves at all, so it's okay, but the bones don't stick and stay apart.

-Hmm ... What is the situation when you get injured?
When I was skiing powder with local people in Nagano, there was a rainbow log between the trees, and when I went for a while, it got caught, and the branch of the log came out where it fell, and it became powder. When I thought I had fallen, I had a cancer on that branch.

-Uh, it seems to hurt.
That's why it seems that the uneven streaks on the side of the spine have three tiny bone tips and go somewhere.

btn-1-Where are you?
Hmmm, it looks like it's moving (laughs). But it doesn't affect my nerves, so I'm left alone (laughs).

-It would be impossible for an ordinary person to return to snowboarding in five weeks. After all I have to train a lot.
I've had a lot of pain, and this time I was told by a doctor and a doctor at a treatment clinic that I trust, I took a rest as I was told, did the menu as I was told, and treated properly. Seems to have been good.I heard that he said honestly and quietly (laughs).

-This time, I have a lot of questions from people watching SBN that I would like Yuki to ask ... Did you find any interesting questions?
Well, there's only one thing girls want to hear (laughs).

-Do you suddenly ask that question?
Oh, then there are quite a lot of questions about what I want to do from now on, so here.

dl-photo2

dl-photo3-There are quite a few voices saying that I want to step up a little when it comes to riding. If you have any advice for girls that you want to go crazy but you're worried about your age, or that you're scared first.
When I think about my age, there are many people around me who are more professional, maybe because I'm a professional, but I'm a person who started around 35 years old, and I'm a grandma. I want to snowboard until I'm old, and I think I should do it if I want to do it, not the year. You only know when you want to do it.For those who want to take the next step, but the feeling of being scared comes first ... Maybe even beginners and good people have the same feelings of "scary" and "can I do it?" ..

I think the important thing is whether you know how much you can do now and what you can challenge next. If you have a goal of "I want to be like this", if you clear the steps "I can do this now" and "Let's do this next time" one by one, you can reach there naturally. I can do it, so I hope I can do more and more from what I can do.After that, I think it will be better if you go skiing with people of the same level, push each other, and have fun.If you are alone, you may be wondering what to do, but if you are a friend, you may feel like trying.

-Some people say, "I'm a fan of Yuki-chan's dynamic style," but when I first skated on a free run together, I said "Uhya, cool" in a good way, like a boy. I was impressed by the stylish slip, and I wonder if Yuki-chan's slip was originally a feeling of "I want to be like this", or did I naturally acquire it?
That Wisler, like "Isn't that grab twisting over there?" (Laughs) ... At first, there was no such thing as "I want to be like this", just "I can slide a little better". I was only thinking about things like "I might be able to fly a little higher".All the time. Then, when I was able to do it to a certain extent, I began to think, "Then, it would be cool to make it like this," and while watching people slip, that kind of thing changed steadily, and the current style changed. I wonder if there is.It may change from now on.

-Some people say that they won't be in the tournament anymore ...
I was thinking of going to the tournament this year, but I couldn't go to that place in February and March because I was injured.Let's practice a little more and get out (laughs).I'm motivated.I want to go out if there is a one-makeup tournament.

-Where are you slipping a lot these days?
I wonder if there are many areas around Niigata in Japan, after all.Or Hokkaido. If you're abroad, there are many, or Whistler in Canada, which I always go to every year.I started to go at the beginning and end of the season.

-Whisler is Yuki-chan's favorite area, isn't it?
Yeah, I like the mountains, I like the city, I like the people there.Does it feel good just to be there?

-Did you go alone around the winter of the year before last?
Yes, if you go alone, you have to talk to someone other than yourself, right? That's why I met a lot of people, and by talking to them, I felt like, "Oh, I've been doing it in a very small shell."It happened that the people I met at that time were all very nice people, and I felt like going every year, and I had a lot to gain.

-From my own experience, is it recommended to go alone?
Yeah, I think it's recommended to go alone if it's a safe place. If you're worried, you can sign up for a pack or tour at first, or take a look at your friends and go.Every spring and before the season, I also camp in Whistler, so it's okay to have them participate in it, and it's going to be a promotion (laughs). But yeah, I think I can get better.

-I also had a look at the first camp, but the campers said that Yuki-chan and A-chan were enthusiastic about coaching, and that they had goose bumps.
Isn't that unpleasant (laughs)?
I'm so scared and chills (laughs). What a lie, but I thought everyone who participated had fun and got better and went home.

Since we have decided not to limit the number of people to more than the fixed number, we will thoroughly use a small number of people and give hope because we want to coach each and every one of us.I'm trying to create an environment where everyone can get something. If I feel like that, I'm sure I can improve.I wish I could make use of what I had been taught, what I had taught, and what I had done in various environments.Today's tools and environment are getting better, and I think snowboarders will get better and better in the future. So, if you can quickly understand what I'm feeling and what I want to convey, I think I'll be able to step up.If you need such a place, please come because there is such a place.I have coaches at various other camps, but of course I want them to get something and get better and go home, so my teaching method is the same at any camp, and I'll do my best at that time. increase.I also get a lot from campers ...

-Yeah ... Then, there are many opinions that I want to know about something private next time, so let's start with the food I like.
Hey your favorite food (with your eyes shining)!Well, I can't say it in a word, but the one I haven't eaten recently is pudding.I haven't eaten (with nostalgic eyes).I like sweets, but quality type rather than quantity.

-"Can I call out if I see it at the ski resort? Will it be ignored?"
Yeah, please call me.Often, there are people who point to the far-winding from the other side, but I don't know what to do with it (laughs). On the contrary, it would be better if you could speak to me. ..

-It seems like the question you've been worried about since a while ago, "How would you like to compare yourself to an animal?"
What are you doing lately?guess what?
Is it a fairly small animal system?
I'm often told that I'm like a cat, but I'm ignoring it when I'm not interested in it because of my personality, and I only stick to it when I'm eating (laughs).

-Do you have a goal?
Ideally, I have no end, but I want to continue for a long time, and I want to slip until I become a grandmother, so now I'm working on the environment, facilities, etc., and it's safe. I hope everyone can enjoy it for a long time, such as finding various tools and telling everyone how to slide safely.

-What is your message to everyone watching SBN?
I want to slide with everyone and I want them to continue for a long time in the current environment.
