Snow Park Yeti, which always makes headlines every year as the earliest outdoor ski resort to open, has decided to open earlier than any other resort in Japan this year for the 26th consecutive year.
On the opening day, October 10th, there will be a series of events planned to kick off the season, including an opening ceremony, a costume (cosplay) ski run, and a free serving of the local dish, Shizuoka oden (for the first 25 people).
If you come dressed in costume (with at least two items of decoration or a costume that covers more than half of your body) by 10:2 a.m., admission will be free! Enjoy your first skiing in whatever costume you like, whether it's matching costumes with friends or your favorite character!
This season, Yeti will open at 1am every morning, one hour earlier than last year. Night skiing is also available, so it's perfect for people who want to ski from morning until night, as well as those who want to enjoy the pleasant morning groomed runs or those who want to practice a little after school or work, and who want to casually enjoy winter sports according to their lifestyle.
Furthermore, this year saw the introduction of domestically produced artificial snow-making machines for the first time in Japan! Compared to previous years, the snow-making efficiency has improved, allowing for a more stable supply of high-quality snow.
Yeti is packed with new initiatives like these, so you can enjoy the start of the winter season earlier than anywhere else.
