The advantage of test drives and try-on sessions is that you can actually try out the gear you're interested in on the snow.
Since you can check the ride comfort and fit, you can be sure to select and order gear that fits you. Snowboarding gear isn't cheap, so you'll want to test drive it, try it on, and choose carefully.
It may seem like there are a lot of snowboard test ride events, but each manufacturer actually holds goggle try-on events.
The way you see through the lens differs between indoors and outdoors, and even on a snow-covered ski resort. Of course, you can just look at it at the store and buy it, but it's best to check how it looks on the snow before buying!
