SBN × Kazushige Fujita: WHY DID I COME TO CANADA

SBN-shige-canada1

I first came to Canada four years ago.

At that time, I was just slipping in the park, and my injuries were finally getting better.I was touring the slopes and big air competitions, and I wasn't very interested in backcountry or mountains.

After that, as I went around various tournaments, my feelings for the tournament faded.I want to slide in various mountains.Every time I entered the mountain, that feeling became stronger. But at that time, I never thought I could snowboard with mobiles in Canada.

A little over a year ago, I met Conitan (Takafumi Konishi) and talked about Canada.Canada is good!Come on!I was told.

I have no choice but to go.I felt that way.

It takes time and money to go to Canada and try various things, and what are the benefits?I honestly don't know when asked.Even if I skate in Japan, I may be able to do it as a professional.

But that's not the case. What do you want to do

I want to challenge here.

I came to Canada with that feeling.

To Whistler, Canada in late March 2013.

The first snowmobile was a series of impressions. The world I was watching in the video.

A mountain of rocks rugged in a pure white world.Only amazing terrain.

Everyone at HEART FILMS is warm and willing to tell and teach.

It was only a two week trip, but I'll do it here next year.I decided so.

Then, in November 2013, I went to Whistler, Canada again.

Every day I slip in and prepare for winter. We will shift to a life centered on snowboarding.

I go up to the mountain every day and feel this mountain.Even if you ski on a ski resort, there are many terrains that Japan does not have. The slopes are steep and long, and there is a lot of playfulness.

There are many places on the course where you can die if you make a mistake, and you can feel the difference from Japanese ski resorts.

Snowboarding styles are completely different due to differences in environment and culture.Canada is fast and dynamic. Is Japan loose and stylish?I don't know what to say, but it's like that.

Snowmobiles are also pervasive in Canadian culture, there are places to do mobiles, and cars with mobiles are common.

Get your own mobile and shoot! I can't say that.

First of all, driving a mobile is difficult, and every day I have everyone teach me.

Everyone's back looks really big.

Driving a mobile is fun, but it's painful.I have to get help from stacking and rolling, and the amount of help I get will reduce the shooting time.

It really hurts my heart. What can I do to get this benefit back?I've been helped so much, and I think I'll be able to continue to help. The best way to give back is to get better quickly.

Recently, we are working with HEART FILMS filmer KEIJI TAJIMA and skier YU SASAKI.

KEIJI has been here for about 10 years and will teach you anything. YU has been around for about 4 years, and Mobile has been around for XNUMX years.

The session with YU was fresh and I rarely skied with skiers until now.

The attitude toward the mountain, the points to find, the line taking, are completely different. It's really cool to glide fast and straight on a straight line, and I don't know if I can do the same with snowboarding.

For the time being, I took a picture with these two people.

I haven't had much pace yet for the first time, but I'm looking forward to seeing what's new in rhythm. It's a lot of fun to create something with new people.

In Canada, you can hike for about 5 hours and stay in a mountain lodge, or you can walk an hour from the ski resort to a great place.

Many people are doing that here.Snowmobiles and mountains have become established as a culture in a natural environment, and this environment creates this culture.

If Japan had such an environment, I think it would be a different Japan.

It's been a month since I came here.And 1.

I still have to get used to the mountains. There are many things I don't understand.

I have to push more.Only grow as much as you experience.

Mountains in Canada teach us things that you can't taste in Japan.

The last few years.I went to various places.

Even in winter, I go to various places, participate in competitions and events.

But this season, my life is centered around shooting based on Whistler.Fight against yourself.

I want to slip here, see various things, learn about culture, and convey it.

Face yourself and discover a new self.

That's why I came to Whistler, Canada.
