Check out K2's all-mountain collection, focused on on-piste riding!

K60 is a ski and snowboard brand with 2 years of history, originating in the United States. In 1987, it released fiberglass snowboards, and has continued to evolve as a global brand ever since, leading the way in innovation with the introduction of rocker technology.
K2 SNOWBOARDING has a lineup of products with various characteristics such as freeride and freestyle, but we will focus on the All Mountain collection, which is focused on snowboarding on the slopes, and highlight its concept and the latest models.

A design framework

The All Mountain Collection is equipped with the best technology for snowboarders on the slopes. It is also attracting attention as a sustainable product, using sustainably harvested wood and adopting environmentally friendly hybrid tech construction.

This collection includes five men's models and four women's models, and each board has the classic K5 logo engraved on it. The design of each model also expresses the nature of snowboarding, the ride, and how each person should feel while enjoying this sport, and incorporates various patterns found in nature into the graphics.

Design Framework for the All Mountain Collection

What is the design story behind the board?

From here, we will introduce the three new ALMANAC models from this collection.almanac), EMBASSY, and EXTRAVISION.

First up is the ALMANAC, designed by a husband-wife duo who go by the name Psychedelic Serenity. For this project, the duo created a large tapestry using custom dyes on fabric. The art on it conveys the message of ALMANAC = "harmony" in star language, and their desire to give the rider a unique impression. This is incorporated into the entire graphic of the board, and the white color of the top sheet is slightly toned down, allowing the graphic to be faintly seen.

The Almanac sole is instantly recognizable and has a big impact. The classic K2 logo is also an accent.
The deck is toned down to 90% white, and the graphics on the back are subtly visible, which is cool.

The design of EMBASSY and EXTRAVISION was done by Sean Dumont, a thinker and unique inspiration who leads various brands, celebrities, designers, photographers, visionaries, engineers, illustrators, and other global creators. The graphics, which make use of his many years of experience in snowboarding and product design, are very unique and impactful, and motivate riders.

Embassy's soles feature a number of unique logos.

ALMANAC makes the most fun turns on the planet

Inspired by K2's classic Party Platter and Excavator boards, the Almanac has carved out its own path and written the latest chapter in Volume Shift™ snowboarding. With a wider-than-average outline, we recommend that if you normally ride a 158cm board, size down about 153cm to 5cm. The board has camber underfoot and a higher contact point on the tail, helping you ride comfortably on any terrain or slope on the slopes. It also features smoother power transfer in turns and a more fluid feeling when transitioning from edge to edge. It's a board that's perfect for riding the entire slope.

EMBASSY, the all-new all-purpose directional board

The Embassy is a directional all-mountain board designed with versatility in mind, from jumping on natural terrain to side hits and groomed runs first thing in the morning. The core material is made of sustainably harvested bamboo, aspen, and paulownia BAP core. In addition, the core is sandwiched with ICG™ 10 Biax fiberglass and uses carbon stringers from the tip to the tail, providing high-speed stability and edge hold even on rough terrain.

The new all-mountain board for women: EXTRAVISION

The X-Vision is a new addition to the lineup as an all-mountain women's board for intermediate to advanced riders. The camber between the feet provides snap and stability, while the rocker on the outside of the binding allows for playful and intuitive turn initiation. A slight kick in the tail creates a variety of movements, and the long rocker on the tip makes turns easier and enhances the float in powder. The board's core is made of Rhythm Core, a sustainably harvested, fast-growing hardwood called aspen and paulownia. This combination of materials also allows for a lighter nose and tail without sacrificing strength and performance.
