The first ever three-day event, starting with a pre-festival on Friday
With his grandfather being Bob Marley and his mother being Lauryn Hill, YG Marley has an overwhelming musical background, and the music video for his debut song "Praise Jah in the Moonlight" co-written with his mother Lauryn has been viewed over 4,000 million times on YouTube. In recent years, he has also attracted attention for his performance at Coachella Festival. YG Marley, a rising star in the reggae world, will be coming to Japan for the first time just for this pre-festival stage. It is sure to be a historic performance to celebrate the opening of the 20th anniversary of GREENROOM FESTIVAL.
Furthermore, on the second day (Saturday), Los Angeles-born multi-instrumentalist Kamasi Washington, a symbol of the new generation golden age of jazz, will appear as the headliner! He composed the music for the movie "Becoming" and was nominated for an Emmy Award and a Grammy Award. The album "Dinner Party (Dessert)" released by the supergroup he belongs to was nominated for a Grammy Award for "Best Progressive R&B Album." This is a rare stage performance by this saxophone player who is leading the modern jazz scene with his overwhelming charisma and playing ability.
On the third day, Sunday, Jacob Collier, a six-time Grammy Award-winning genius musician known as the "Colorful Mozart of Gen Z," will appear as the headliner. He made his debut in 3 after being discovered by Quincy Jones after his multi-track arrangement videos posted in his teens became a hot topic. His unique performance, in which he effortlessly plays all kinds of instruments and involves the audience in the chorus, is the ultimate musical experience. This precious stage is sure to be a spectacular finale worthy of concluding this year's GREENROOM FESTIVAL.
