The innocent smile makes everyone happy so much that it makes you want to call it the sun of Kayagasaki. A high school girl snowboarder who has begun to make a presence in the women's half-pipe world with outstanding board handling in the style of 3S preparation has started for Pyeongchang.

Aiming for the top in the Olympics, video, photography, everything

"I went to the United States for a tournament called Revolution Tour. I came back to Japan and moved to Sapporo as it was. I participated in two games, the FIS tournament, and this time to the Youth Olympic Games held in Northern Europe Norway. I was planning to go to Hokkaido again and then participate in the World Championships held in China, but I was injured before departure. After about a month of rehabilitation, I went to the United States again in early spring to snowboard a lot. I've been practicing pipes and parks in New Zealand this summer. This is my main activity from last December to this September. "

Junna Asaya, a high school girl professional snowboarder who grew up in Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture.Perhaps because of her locality, she loves snowboarding, surfing, and skating every day.
"I've enjoyed surfing and skating since I was little because of my dad and mom. I'm still in Kayagasaki and if there are waves, I go surfing with my dad and the sea. I have a lot of small injuries but I like the streets. I started surfing when I was 7 years old. First, I went to the school at Snowva Mizoguchi and practiced. That winter, I certainly went to Gunma's Kokoi ski resort, but it took 4 hours to get down from the top of the mountain. The next day I was playing in the snow and skating. At first I didn't really like snowboarding. "

However, one day, what happened at the indoor ski resort park that the whole family visited had a big impact on her after that.
"I was slipping to chase after an unknown child of the same age, and I just went into a small park.
That's right. Then, the feeling and the feeling of floating are similar to skating and surfing. To balance
It ’s difficult, but I thought it ’s really fun. ”

After learning about the fun of snow parks, she will be competing in the halfpipe tournament for the first time when she is in the 4th grade of elementary school and at the age of 10.
"It was a kids jam at the grass tournament, but that's what I'm serious about. I'm nervous until it's my turn to slip, but I feel
Feels very happy. After that, I got better and strongly wanted to win the tournament. "

With this tournament as a boundary, she will start her competitive life in earnest. And she set her big goal to be a professional player.
"On weekends, I started skiing with my sister at a ski resort in a neighboring prefecture at the same time. I slipped and skied with my sister like competing all day from morning till night. The tournament was a little from the grass tournament. I started to participate in big competitions one by one, and when I was 14, I was able to get the professional qualification I had longed for. "

After that, she got good results if she participated in the domestic tournament, was selected as a national team, and eventually the name of Junna Asaya will grow into a player until it becomes known to the national district.
"Last year, there were many 2nd and 4th places in the pipe tournament. How can I win the championship by my own slip? This term is the year of the trial of the Pyeongchang Olympics. The FIS tournament from mid-November to January will start. I will stay in the United States until then, and I will make adjustments locally and challenge the competition after that. I would like to give back to my parents who always support me by slipping. And also to ROXY who supports my activities. I am very grateful. The ROXY team, which often acts together, has a lot of inspiration because each member has a different personality. This winter is a year of competition. I will do my best in pursuit. "

In order to shine in Pyeongchang, I would like to continue to support her who is striving to improve without being content with the current situation.

Junna was disappointed with the 2nd and 4th place at last year's tournament. In NZ in September, I worked hard to practice even on bad weather for next season and pushed my motivation for the next season.
