"Is it the usual strap type or Step On ®︎?"

The latest undercarriage system "Step On ®︎" developed by Burton that enhances the comfort of snowboarding.Since its first appearance on the market, the product has been further refined and the lineup has expanded in the fifth season.
Many people may be thinking, "Let's change from the usual strap type to Step On ®︎."So, this time, I asked the shop staff who are familiar with Burton's suspension about their own experiences and asked about Step On ®︎, strap type, and selection points.
Please use it as a reference when choosing a suspension for this season.

Step On on the slopes®The usage rate is high, but when you are serious ...
It's been from last season, but when I ski on the slopes, I almost step on®I came to use.Kikake saw the shop's signboard proprietress (Furihata) Yuki-chan's favorite from the front, and when I went to slide with him, Yuki-chan got off the lift and went first. I was jealous of myself when I saw him (laughs). However, in me, "Step On"®Is it really okay? There was also a part I didn't trust. However, when I actually start using it, it's not so uncomfortable and stress-free, and I can play both surf-like and skate-like. "Step On at all®It's okay "(laughs).I'm Step On®I like the soft suspension, the binding is normal type, and the boots are SWATH.From this season, the boots will be laced and the flex will be softer Kendo, so the binding will also be released from this season GENESIS Step On®I plan to use.Last season, when I saw Mr. Bell (Narifumi Yoshimura) using Kendo, he seemed to be in good shape, and even at SWATH, I felt a little stiff, and when I actually tried it on. The feeling was also good.
However, if you still want to face your own slip, Step On®Instead, I'm using a combination of strap type CARTEL X EST and ION LEATHER.It may not be that much of a concern, but even if you keep up to the second stage, Step On®There is a feeling that the heel floats a little ...So, if you want to make more delicate movements, you should choose the strap type.Banked slalom also Step On®I was a little worried, so I participated in the strap type. The rest is powder.Step On when the snow at the starting point is compacted®But that's fine, but when we go to the backcountry, we often put it on and take it off when we walk around and traverse, so it's hard to put it on if it's clogged with snow.I don't want to get impatient with that, so Step On®I try to avoid it.Is it the reason why the suspension is stiff when using the strap type? That's because the board I'm riding on is a little soft, so I wonder if the undercarriage is stiffer by that amount ... We often go to Mt. Chokai, but when attacking a large slope, a solid undercarriage is cheaper You can dig in with your heart.CARTEL X, which I started using last season, seemed to have a slightly stiff highback, but the reaction was quite quick and I was able to ride the heel with confidence. There was no stress at all, and I feel like I found out why the riders liked it.
With that feeling, this season as well as last season, strap type and Step On®I think I will slip by using properly.

<What is the reaction at the store? >
Already half of them are Step On®Is used
Step On®The store itself is evolving and the lineup is increasing, so even at our store, Step On year by year.®The number of people who are interested in is increasing. Thanks to you, I have made a lot of reservations this season, and in my case, about half of the undercarriage gear is Step On.®I feel like that. However, like me, the strap type and Step On®There are some people who use it properly, and those who are serious about half-pipes and those who want to fly a big kicker still often choose the strap type that is solid. Also, those who like powder and backcountry also Step On®You can't choose. After all there is a demerit that the snow gets clogged. Step On®If you get used to it and get the hang of it, I think you can get rid of it with powder, but if you really want to bury your hands deeply, Step On®It's hard to get hooked on it.If it's a strap type, you can move on a little even if you just fasten it lightly. That is Step On®I can't do that. For that reason, powder lovers also Step On®May be avoided.
Still Step On®After all there are many merits, especially for kids and beginners. You don't have to sit down every time, and I think it's great that you don't have to click that ratchet. In that sense, I also recommend it to middle-aged people who are a little hungry (laughs). The rest is dad and mom. When teaching children, the ease of wearing it is good, isn't it?Oh yeah, Step On in my house®For those who are worried about whether to use or not, he also says, "The number of slips will increase."While skating, it feels like Pyon and the installation is finished. If you convert it into one day, I think it will make a considerable difference in the number. For those who have been using strap-type undercarriage habitually, there are still some people who are not yet trusted as "Isn't it coming off?" Or "Isn't it stiff?"However, there are more people who are enjoying and slipping than people who are playing competitions, so once Step On®If it is set to, it will not be returned to the strap type, and only those who continue to use it as it is.I have never heard of a bad image.

Step On because there is a merit that exceeds dissatisfaction®I'm using

For two seasons, I'm Step On®I'm using.I have used SHIMANO and YONEX step-ins in the past, but compared to that, the sole feeling is the same as the free sole boots, the response is the same level as the strap type binding, and I have felt uncomfortable until now. There is none. However, it is said that powder is okay, but to be honest, it is difficult to wear. It's kind of like Hokkaido powder. Also, I'm wearing SWATH, which has a two-piece structure because I want to use my ankles softly, but the tip of the toe is quite thin ...I think there are some types of my feet that are a little wider, but the widest part of a human foot is just below the base of the little finger.Step On there®It hurt because of the metal fittings. However, I really wanted to wear these boots, so I pulled out the inner of the boots of another brand that I used before and replaced them. Then the pain was gone. Then I'm Step On®The reason for using is the ease at the kids school.Even in the same one-hour school, the contents are completely thickened. You can teach while touching the child's body by removing it during the lesson. It took almost a minute from explaining that it was a strap type to actually slipping and showing a sample, but it was almost zero.I don't think I can get out anymore (laughs).
Binding is normal Step On this season®So, I'm worried about boots with either SWATH or KENDO.Kendo, which will be released this season, looks good because it can be fine-tuned with a string. However, I'm worried about the pain I felt with SWATH (bitter smile). Step On®Why not use PHOTON, which has the only Asian fit in it?It's a little hard and has a strap, so it's heavy.I don't think it's that sturdy and I don't need a strap.Besides, I often accompany children's competitions, and when that happens, I often walk around the venue.Double BOA at that time®After all it is easy. When you want to relax, BOA of the sneak part®If you release, it will be easier to walk and you will be able to tighten it immediately when you slip.

I want kids to use Step On ®
Currently, our kids school has about 50 elementary school students, but more than 1/3 of them are Step On.®I am using.I think it's not just me but the kids who think that our kids school has more content than before in the one-hour lesson Step On®It is big to use.I think one of the reasons children hate snowboarding is that troublesome movement to put on the board, but Step On®That's not stressful, and I don't have to teach how to put on the binding, so I can spend more time doing other things. So, for kids and beginners, Step On®I want you to use it.I really think so.
However, if you want to be aware of the style that makes use of the exquisite twist that can only be produced with strap type binding, Step On®I think it's better not.I think the ankle has more freedom. The rest are contest-oriented people. Step On®If you use it hard, the fasteners on both sides of the toe will play.Little by little. For those who are concerned about such things, I think that the binding that can be fastened with a strap is better. …… But recently, Step On®There are also players who are participating in half-pipe competitions. It means that it has evolved considerably.
Also, as everyone who is already using it may say, the fastener part of the toe makes a rattling sound when high speed is put out.No matter how much you say it's okay because it won't come off, it's still unpleasant. However, it seems that this season's adult model has been improved and no sound is produced.I haven't tried it yet, so I heard it.So, after improving it, it seems that it can be spawned even when removing the boots. In the past, when I released the heel lever and pulled it out to the tip of the knob, I sometimes had to knead it, but it became really smooth. It has not been reflected for kids this season yet, so I hope it will be adopted for kids from around next season.

Step On®︎Is very easy, so while using it,
There are also situations where you can go with a set of strap GENESIS and ION.
Step On®︎Anyway, you can slide easily. You don't have to bend down and take a low position because you can wear the binding while standing. Therefore, the burden on the body is very small.I also like the fact that it has a good hold and is responsive so I can use my power efficiently to turn.Perhaps the accuracy of riding is overwhelmingly higher than the step-in type system that has appeared so far, and I think that it is quite close to the ride quality of strap vine.I am a standard type Step On®︎In the binding and lineup of, I set and use ION boots with a firm hold feeling. However, as a feature, it feels like it is locked firmly, so I feel that its feeling is more suitable for carving and free riding in a snow-packed burn.Step On from the beginning of last season®︎I wasn't going through the park so hard, but I was in a middle kicker of about 10m, but I used it without any problems. When I'm skiing with everyone, I think it's really nice to have a margin in the pace of skiing.Anyway, convenience and ease are overwhelming merits. Also, Step On®︎You can also slide in the side country beside the slopes. However, when I'm used to slipping on snowy mountains, it's quite deep and powder area, and the slope is not stable and I'm likely to get hooked on the way, when I can predict the situation of attaching and detaching the binding, I will ION on GENESIS of the strap vine. I'm slipping on the set.I haven't had the experience of being really addicted to it, but after all Step On in the powder®︎I'm still worried about the attachment / detachment operation, so I feel like I'm using it properly because I want to avoid the risk. Also, when I slip in and get used to my legs and legs, I use the strap type when I mainly think about 3D sliding by attacking the terrain or enjoying freely using the wall.Of course Step On®︎But it's okay, but the strap type feels better when the fit at the back of the binding fits the surface.I also Step On®︎I really like it and use it, but I feel that the strap type is also used properly according to the situation in order to enjoy the fun of sliding more.

For those who mainly carve and free riding,
Step 0n®︎ rate is increasing with ION and PHOTON
I have been using BURTON for about 25 years.Anyway, I feel that the boots have excellent heel hold.Since the heel does not float, you can control it firmly. And even if the inner is used, there is little settling, so the life is long.I think the balance between the inner and outer fits is also very good.In addition, the silhouette of the boots feels slim, but the toes are well-balanced without being too tight. Therefore, the binding can be fitted in the minimum size.Of course, the binding is also highly complete, and I think that the unique system called RE: FLEX, which allows you to feel the flex of the board, is also connected to the ease of riding. So, while telling the customers about such parts, I also ask them to take into consideration the fit with themselves.Step On with our customers®︎Those who choose are mainly carving and free riding, and those who want to slip comfortably. There are many people who have used step-in before. Some people are wondering how much riding feels like a strap-type feeling, so explain the feeling around that and Step On.®︎Is recommended. At our shop, we use boots such as ION and PHOTON that have a strong response and Step ON.®︎The main people are those who use.And inside is Step On®︎Even the selected ones own the strap type, and some people use it properly.Recently, the number of people who want to use it even for beginners has increased, but I think that the part that you can wear the binding while standing and can slide easily will work positively for your progress. On the other hand, many people who attack freestyle hard choose the strap type. The ease of use of your feet in freestyle movements, and the feeling of tightening the binding and getting enthusiastic, are also the advantages of the strap type.

Step On ® ️'s excellent performance has the potential to make snowboarding more comfortable than ever. It's true that the comfort gives you a big advantage of "margin" in your riding.
However, as you read this article, there is an opinion that the strap type is still good, and the method of using both properly is also attractive.
In short, what style do you want to enjoy riding?Which is the best fit for the suspension that you feel is easy to ride?I want you to derive the answer firmly from there and choose the best suspension.
The undercarriage upgrade will surely greatly enhance the enjoyment of riding this season.
