Yukie House Snowboarder's Diary Vol.1
What is Yukie House?
Yukie Ueda started a new life by moving her family to Mammoth Mountain, California, USA in order to enhance her snowboarding life. Many snowboarders from Japan also visit Mammoth, and it seems that the “Yukie proprietress of Mammoth guest house” has become established by staying at her house.
In this project, the snowboarders who visited Yukie Ueda's home "Yukie House" were interviewed and interviewed by themselves. While communicating closely with the guests, who are also active riders, we will convey the lifestyles and honest feelings of snowboarders who are not usually familiar with them.
In the first session, Asami Hirono, who collected the expenses for the overseas expedition himself, set a strong will and goal with a coach at his own expense, and came to the United States from the beginning of June to the end of July, and Focused on it.
Asami Hirono Interview
By Yukie Ueda
Asami Hirono, 26 years old.She competes in domestic and international contests to participate in the Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018.The ticket to the Olympics that I dreamed of is about to be reached for the first time.C designation in the strengthening player designation announced the other day.I definitely want to bite at the last minute. The guts of not giving up are transmitted from the whole body of Asami. In this world where many players born in the 2000s are digging into the top, he is not a young man, but he is not a veteran yet.How does she keep fighting right before the Olympics?
In this US expedition, we overcame many happenings and almost completed 1080, which was the goal of Mound Hood.Immediately before returning to Japan, I interviewed Asami, who was spending a relaxing time at my home.
I don't want to regret going to the Olympics.I don't want to lose because there are people who support me
– Fight from the end of the season for the Olympic qualification.Approximately two months in California Mammoth and Oregon Hood with a coach I trust at my own expense. It seems that you are mentally trained while being hit by various happenings, but please tell us your feelings now.
Last season was a season where I experienced an unprecedented number of tournaments and overseas expeditions.I wanted to practice in Japan while I was on vacation during this time when there was no competition, but I decided to go to the United States. The reason is that my current skills are still lacking, and the criteria for the World Cup and the criteria for the World Championship are connected by a single piece of skin on the neck.Still, I still have a chance.I didn't want to regret if I could or couldn't go to the Olympics, so I decided to go on an American expedition because I wanted to do what I could.
As a matter of fact, the financial aspect is also tight.Rather, it wasn't enough, and I decided to be in debt, so I'm saving everything.I used to live as a backpacker and travel by bus without renting a car.I think it is important for athletes to concentrate on their practice in a stress-free environment. However, I feel that this saving life has made me realize the importance of money, and I have a hungry spirit, and I feel that I was able to spend my time with gratitude without being overwhelmed by the current environment.
– Was Asami aiming to participate in the last Sochi Olympics?
At that time, I had just achieved my goal of being promoted to a professional. When I was thinking about what my next goal would be, the slopestyle was decided for the Olympic event, so my goal is the Olympics!I thought, and started aiming. At that time, I was lucky enough to participate in the World Cup, but I couldn't participate in the Olympic Year World Cup because I didn't receive the points.
– Where do you get the tremendous trust in the Hansai coach who accompanied you this time? Also, how is it different from practicing by yourself to have a coach, and where do you feel the value?
Coach Hansai was the catalyst for me to start slopestyle. I was wondering if I could stand 360 or not, but after being taught by coach Hansai, I became better at it and my skills increased dramatically.Since I am a sensory scholar, coach Hansai, a theoretical scholar, taught me the theory, and the time to worry about techniques that I could not do was shortened. If you use only your own strength, you will spend many years learning the technique, but I think it is a great thing that you can acquire a new technique in a short time if you receive coaching.Besides, coach Hansai is helping me because he teaches me not only the technique but also the mental aspect. When I'm scared and hesitant, he pushes my back, saying "Let's go next!"They identify what the players can't do and push their backs.
– Asami is 26 years old. You're not young in this world.I think I have the position, anxiety and confidence that I am in now.Where do you feel the strong feelings you never want to give up?And how are you fighting the inner feelings of your heart when you are about to lose?
I have a strong feeling that I don't want to lose because there are people who support me.When I'm on an airplane heading for an expedition, I'm scared of my situation, and when I try something, I hear a voice from my heart saying, "You can't do it."I'm not obsessed with it (laughs).I definitely don't want to lose to such a weak self.People around me often say that I'm too kind, but I don't like to lose. When I'm about to lose to myself, I've always been energized by listening to the positive and positive songs of my favorite singer, Daichi Miura, for 20 years.
– Asami, who has been so absorbed in snowboarding and spending time and money, may not have been able to do what the girls in the world have enjoyed, but what do you want to do after this challenge?
I want to lose weight like a slender girl (laughs).
– You did the training at my house where you came to stay.I think there is some ingenuity in that method. What kind of method do you use to build your body? When did you become aware of your body?
During the expedition, I carry training goods that I can easily do at home, such as something that can be inflated with water to replace a barbell or a rubber band.I usually have my trainer make a training menu for my body, and even during the expedition, I sometimes ask the trainer to watch my training while making a video call.Actually, when I was addicted to snowboarding in high school, I often got light injuries. Then I went to a snowboarding vocational school and started training well, and then I didn't get injured.I'm very nervous, I don't want to get injured and I don't like to fall, so I train well and am conscious of building my body.
– What you can do only with Asami Hirono! Please tell me the strong part that you can not lose, if you feel it yourself. (On the contrary, if you think that you are not enough, if you can tell the complex)
I,I think that the selling point is that it is hard to get injured and that it has a strong and masculine slip.People who see the slip often say, "I thought it was a man!"On the other hand, the complex is not good at soft sliding, so I wonder if my riding is not a beautiful sliding.
– Tell us why Asami likes snowboarding and what makes her so attractive.
purelyIs it a fun place? If you do it, you will grow as much as you do, and I think that you can get in touch with nature and make snowboarding friends in Japan and around the world and share the fun.
There have been many things that have changed me over the last four years.I'm looking forward to seeing how I grow up after breaking through a big wall
– Why are you aiming for the Olympics?
I want to give back to those who have influenced me, those who have supported me, and those who have encouraged me.And I want to try to see how much I can reach my potential and become a more influential rider.
– How will you spend your time until the Olympics?
Just do what you can and proceed without regrets!
– One last word, could you give a message to the people who read this article?
There have been many things in the last four years towards the Olympics.Ever since I started snowboarding, I've been doing well, but on the way I crashed into a big wall. There were times when I couldn't figure out how to ski, mentally and technically, and I was afraid of snowboarding.Due to various pressures, I almost hated my favorite snowboard and tried to quit the player many times.Compared to when I had more than 4 wins in one season in Japan, the level of overseas tournaments went up so much that I couldn't win at all, and I just lost and lost confidence.Still, I wanted to do something in my heart. At that time, I met various people, received various thoughts and words, and finally started to move in the positive direction, which was a negative one at the bottom. After that, I will move forward little by little and reach the present.I am looking forward to seeing how I will grow after breaking through the big wall.I am clumsy, but please watch over me warmly.
