Union Binding Company and Burton Partner! Union Atlas STEP ON® Snowboard Bindings to be Available in January 2025

In recent years, many users have realized the appeal of the new generation binding and boot system "STEP ON®︎". The lineup has increased, the system itself has evolved, and its reliability and popularity have rapidly increased.
SBN FREERUN also has an article introducing its appealing features, such as its convenience, comfort, and excellent power transmission.

STEP ON® is an original system that secures boots to bindings without using traditional straps. Development of STEP ON® began with Burton founder Jake Burton Carpenter's desire to create a binding and boot system that would make it easier for anyone to learn snowboarding.

It first appeared on the snow in December 2016. The first STEP ON® was released in 12, five years after it was developed. Now, seven years after its release, a wide range of snowboarders are experiencing the performance of STEP ON®, which has undergone various evolutions.

The STEP ON® system developed by BURTON continues to expand its possibilities. DC and NITRO have already released STEP ON® boots, and FLUX has released a model equipped with the STEP ON® system. Now, Union Binding Company, a leading snowboard binding brand with a wide range of support, will release a model equipped with the STEP ON® system.

Union Bindings recognized that Burton's STEP ON® technology was the only system that offered a high level of performance, durability, comfort and functionality.

Union and Burton agreed to develop prototypes for the first time in 2021 and began considering adopting STEP ON®︎ in the new lineup of Union bindings. Union will visit Burton's Burlington headquarters in June 2023. Burton will visit Union's Italian headquarters in August 6 and conclude a strategic partnership.

"We are pleased to be working with Union Binding Company to bring this technology to market," said Martino Fumagalli, CEO and General Manager of Union Binding Company.

"I wanted to give back to this industry, and this project was the best way to contribute. In our partnership with Burton, we are not just developing one product. We want to continue evolving the possibilities of STEP ON®︎.I'm excited to be at the starting line and see what we can achieve together."

Meanwhile, Burton's CPO (Chief Product Officer) Chris Cunningham said:

"We are pleased to announce this partnership and welcome the Union team into the STEP ON® family. We are very pleased and excited to welcome them. The reason for this unique creativity is that we work together to develop snowboard bindings.I think it's because we both have a deep and long history of evolution and the great passion that has driven it forward."
He commented.
STEO ON®︎ partnerships allow partners to independently develop products based on the standard, strengthening everything from production to support.
As a result, sales coordination from dealers to retailers is smoother, meaning that performance can be delivered to more snowboarders.
moreover

"We use shared technology in the binding and boot interface.
By collaborating rather than competing, we can focus on greater innovation, resulting in

"We can make that performance available to more snowboarders."" says Cunningham.
