Mt.T by Hoshino Resorts is a field where ski bums from Japan and abroad can have an extreme experience with the finest quality powder snow and undulating terrain. It is also a very valuable area for snowboarders as it allows them to do serious backcountry riding.
However, to enjoy the fun, guests are required to have sufficient knowledge, proper equipment, and riding skills.
Therefore, Mt.T is implementing "avalanche accident prevention measures" for the 24th and 25th seasons to ensure that people can safely enjoy skiing on the snowy mountains.
①BCA backcountry gear rental service starts [NEW]
Starting from the 24-25 season, we will start renting out BCA backcountry gear.
Beacons, probes, shovels, and backpacks can be rented individually or as a set of 3 to 4 items.
The beacon is available in the latest model, TRACKER S.
We rent an easy-to-carry lightweight shovel, a 20L backpack that can also be used to attach a snowboard, and a 270cm aluminum probe.
It can be used when you accidentally forget your tools and are in trouble.
②We worked with Minakami Town to install a "beacon checker," a device for checking the operation of radio wave receivers and transmitters called "beacons."
Since last season, in collaboration with Minakami Town, they have been installing beacon checkers (devices that check whether avalanche beacons, small radio transmitters and receivers carried when going into mountain areas where there is a risk of avalanches, such as when climbing in the snowy season, or going backcountry skiing or snowboarding, are working properly).
There are two signs set up within Mt.T (Tenjindai and Tenjin Toge) to raise awareness about preventing avalanches.
3) Developing avalanche management personnel
We are inviting an avalanche forecaster with level 2 avalanche work qualification to be our lecturer, and are working to develop avalanche management personnel, focusing on patrols.
