Hoshino Resorts rebrands Tanigawadake as a spot where you can experience the charm of the mountains 365 days a year.

Hoshino Resorts has announced that it will rename two facilities it operates in Tanigawadake, Gunma Prefecture.Starting Sunday, December 2024, 12, "Tanigawadake Ropeway by Hoshino Resorts" will be renamed "Tanigawadake Yoho by Hoshino Resorts," and "Tanigawadake Tenjindaira Ski Resort by Hoshino Resorts" will be renamed "Mt.T by Hoshino Resorts." The overall image will be revamped and the resort will be rebranded as a spot where people can experience the charm of the mountains all year round.

Communicating the new image of "a great mountain that's close by"

Long said to be a "good mountain that's close by," Mt. Tanigawa is easily accessible, taking just two hours by car or bullet train from the Tokyo metropolitan area, and is known as one of Japan's 2 famous mountains. Despite being a mountain with an elevation of less than 2,000m, the spectacular scenery created by the steep rock faces and multi-layered mountain ridges is said to easily "exceed that of mountains at 3000m." It also shows off different seasonal scenes, with lingering snow and fresh greenery from spring to summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and top-quality powder snow in winter.

But that charm is not necessarily widely known. Tanigawadake still has a strong image of being a "wild mountain with pristine nature remaining." That's why Hoshino Resorts decided to change the name of the facility. At the same time, they decided to promote the new (or original) image of Tanigawadake. "At Tanigawadake, everyone can enjoy sightseeing, mountain climbing, snowboarding, skiing, and more, depending on the season. You can experience the charm of the mountain in various ways throughout the year."

"Mt.T"(Old:Tanigawadake Tenjindaira Ski Resort

"Mt.T" is "The Ultimate Powder Field" where you can enjoy the majestic nature of Mt. Tanigawa as it is, and is a ski resort targeted at active adults who are looking for an extreme nature experience. The name was chosen because there are many areas in the surrounding area that start with the initial T, such as Mt. Tanigawa, Tenjindaira, Tajirizawa, and Takakurayama. At the same time, the name also contains the desire to "make the resort familiar to not only domestic snowboarders and skiers, but also customers from overseas who travel in search of high-quality powder snow."

So what is this ski resort like? Let's talk a little more in detail. Surrounded by majestic mountains around 2,000 meters above sea level, the twin peaks of Mt. Tanigawa are covered in snow for a long period of the season due to the overwhelming amount of snowfall, maintaining their fantastical beauty. If you go there, you can enjoy the superb powder snow and the fun of skiing down steep, dynamic terrain, surrounded by the luxurious views that can only be found at one of Japan's XNUMX famous mountains. It's sure to be a place that any snowboarder would want to experience at least once.

This season, beacon checkers have been installed so that visitors can enjoy the powder snow with peace of mind, and safety measures such as training avalanche management personnel and disseminating information on avalanche warning levels are also being promoted. If that's what you're looking for, why not go "this winter" rather than "someday"?

"Yohho, Mount Tanigawa"(Formerly: Tanigawadake Ropeway)

"Joch" means "saddle" in German, and refers to the hollow terrain between mountains. The "Tenjindaira" area at the top of the ropeway is a saddle in the middle of Mt. Tanigawa, and the name "Tanigawadake Joch" was chosen with the hope that people would feel more familiar with the mountain. The logo is colorful.
