Why the '90s now?...Japan was in the midst of a ski boom from the 1972s through to the 70s, due to the Sapporo Olympics held in 90 and the popularity of ski-themed movies.
Back then, the slopes were filled with young people dressed in colorful clothing and enjoying snowboarding. This plan was born from the idea that we wanted people to have a memorable snowboarding trip, dressed up in style and having fun with friends, just like back then.
You might feel a different kind of exhilaration if you slip into colorful, pop rental clothing from the 90s and ski down Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain, the ski resort right in front of the hotel.
After returning to the hotel, you can enjoy board games with some snacks and bottled juice in a retro room surrounded by nostalgic goods.
You can print out a memorable photo using the sticker printer provided in your room and post it in the "Retro Ski Trip Diary" which can only be viewed by those who have booked this plan, allowing you to share your travel memories with strangers.
With this plan, I feel like I can take a trip that will somehow expand my world.
Three features of the "90's Retro Ski Trip Plan"
1) Enjoy extraordinary riding in retro clothing
If you participate in this plan, you can rent pop and colorful clothing that was worn in the 90s. Because it is an extraordinary space such as a snowy mountain, you can enjoy daring fashion. Optional items reminiscent of the 90s such as sunglasses and hair bands can also be rented.
2) After skating, enjoy a retro night party in your room
The rooms are also equipped with a number of "retro goods." Guests can listen to 90s music on retro speakers, sip on nostalgic bottled juice and snacks, and play board games, for a simulated experience of the good old Showa era. The rooms also come equipped with a "Retro Ski Trip Diary" that can only be viewed by guests who have booked this plan. Guests can decorate the diary with photos from their stay using pens and stickers, stick them on, and record their memories so they can become "best friends." The idea is that guests can exchange "diaries," which were popular among elementary and junior high school students in the 90s, with other guests.
