The Yuzawa / Minami Uonuma area, which has been transmitting the freestyle park scene for many years and can be said to be the sanctuary of the park.The group that has been leading the park culture in this area in recent years is SNOWCASE DESIGN.They are creating a new park culture by thinking and producing a park that suits the current era.And this season, a new concept park was born at Maiko Snow Resort.It is the development of "Hike Up Park" that realized the collaboration with the goggles brand ELECTRIC.We interviewed Mr. Tamura of SNOWCASE DESIGN about this park for the park season that is about to begin in earnest.

New hike-up park concept
Can you tell us about the concept of Maiko ELECTRIC Hike Up Park?
This park is a skill-up park that suits the times, where you can hike up and try again and again instead of using a lift.The concept is a park where all snowboarders from beginners to advanced can take on the challenge.
The beginner's park at the top is a park that anyone can enjoy, such as those who have never been interested in the park or those who have finally become able to slide. By setting the items as low as possible with a 3m jump and a 4m wide BOX, the layout is easy for anyone to enter so that there is no fear from the appearance.
In addition, a 6m down narrow BOX, a 6m wide BOX, and a 6m flat rail are installed in the lower intermediate and advanced park.This is based on the concept of a park where intermediate and advanced players can practice silently to improve their skills.With a simple item structure, it is made up of items such as long narrow boxes and fat trails so that you can easily practice side-in, 270-in, and 270-out.
How did you realize this park?What kind of users do you recommend?
When I was a student, I could only ski on weekends, and I really wanted to get on the lift and go around the park.I've always wanted to fly and rub it.The mainstream of hike-up parks is an easy item composition for beginners only, but I hope to create an environment where even intermediate and advanced players can practice earnestly, so I will produce this park. I did.Therefore, it is recommended for all snowboarders who want to improve their park skills regardless of their level.

Why did you realize the park collaboration with ELECTRIC this time?
One thing is that this season's ELECTRIC jib contest "ALL FLAT CASH JAM" will be held here in Maiko.In addition, Maiko's customer base is very large, including snowboarders and free skiers, and ELECTRIC supports both, and the brand image is cool. It's the same as continuing big tournaments like ALL FLAT CASH JAM, and I really like the image of ELECTRIC riders.Also, I think it's wonderful to have a brand that can be promoted at a real site (park) for snowboarders.Above all, the brand staff love to skate, so I think we were able to achieve a good partnership.

A snowboarder and free skier called "ONCE a MONTH x ELECTRIC" held a jib tournament where they can enjoy the park together.There are 32 entries in total.Most of them were snowboarders, but it was a nice session with Jiba and locals from outside the prefecture.In the qualifying, I saw the players gradually heating up and it became very hot.Also, in the final tournament, the players were quite aggressive and it was very impressive.I will continue to hold such jib session competitions in the future.
