I've been involved in development since the introduction of Family Tree, and I've released some models I made.A model called SENSEI will appear this season as well, but I have been trying out the boards in the lineup and making the boards I want while changing my taste. Family Tree is a collection that is indispensable to my snowboarding life. Burton's rider-driven projects, especially new ones, will be created, tested, and the ones that have a novel impact on the scene will be released as a lineup.Family Tree does that in a fairly fast cycle. Each one has a rider and a developer.It doesn't really show up, but I think it really reflects the rider's style and environment as a feature of the board.That is also an interesting place.There are no particular restrictions as a category, and it does not mean "Family Tree = powder board".There are various styles, not just powder. The most fun thing about snowboarding, "sliding powder," is packed with various elements, but there are approaches from various directions.
The board I made is characterized by its sharp carving even on groomed slopes.A board that you can enjoy by carving.The camber directional shape is the basis, and new elements are arranged to suit the times.Of course, there are various trials and errors, but the commitment to "draw a beautiful arc with a curve" cannot be surrendered.That is also the "slipperiness in powder, attractiveness of slipping" of the board I make.
Gear is important for snowboarding.If you have the technology, you may be able to ride the board even if it is not suitable for the environment, but the general public should rely on gear.The amount of fun that can be enjoyed by it is completely different.I think that if you understand that, you will be more interested in gear.Family Tree is full of possibilities to accelerate the fun of snowboarding.

In recent years, there are many thick boards that are conscious of powder, but this is thin.I made it based on 161 cm, but the width of the center is 24.7 cm.There is a little maniac atmosphere that speeds up by that amount, buoyancy is generated at speed, and cruises in the powder, but the carving is also very sharp, it is not tapered, it is a ride as a modern shape. It's a rare board.It feels like you are aggressively speeding up and attacking while sharpening the tail without tapering, and there is a sense of stability.The control is narrow, so it's quick, and you can enjoy the feeling of operation in that area yourself.It is not an automatic board that the board can easily float even at low speeds and can escape deep powder, but it is a board that you can enjoy controlling while weighting and unloading as you like.

I started riding the Family Tree about 5 years ago because I wanted to ride the SPLIT board. Before I got on the Family Tree, I had an all-round board that I was riding in the main and went into the backcountry while using snowshoes.However, people around me said, "SPLIT board is easier." When I thought, "Let's get on it," SPLIT was on the Family Tree line, and when I was told "What does Family Tree mean?", I said "Family tree." Be me.When asked about the concept, it means that the two boards are multiplied to create a board with a completely new concept.It's like having a parent and having a child.When I heard that story, I became very interested in it.That's why various types appear in the Family Tree series.Of course, there are many honor student types, but some of them are quite characteristic.Especially at the prototype stage.I think that most of the things that will eventually remain on the line and appear in the scene are carefully selected, but I think it would be interesting to see the Family Tree board again as something with such a story.
I want to go to various fields and gain experience, so I'm also interested in a slightly distinctive board. Family Tree expands the range of your riding. I've been riding on a board that says, "This is a really good style."It's interesting because there are various stimuli.If I design a board, I like to think about it like this.It makes me want to think that I am riding, thinking about what I want and what the world wants.With various possibilities already being proposed, it seems difficult to create something new, but that's why it's interesting to think about it. There are 4 models of SPLIT this year, so many people may be worried, but among them, HOMETOWN HERO's SPLIT is easy to handle because it can be slipped even with a switch.It fits well with mountain fields such as Tanigawadake Tenjindaira and Mt. Iwaki in Aomori, where I often slide.Originally, HOME TOWN HERO has excellent all-round performance and is an easy-to-use board, so it feels like it has inherited its characteristics in a well-balanced manner.

For me, it's more like a board for fun than attacking free riding. While riding the Family Tree, I enjoy a lot of freestyle skiing.You can even put it in a half pipe.That is a good place.Rather than specializing only in powder, you can enjoy it all-round, including freestyle.
Family Tree may have a strong image of powder and free riding, but not all of them have too sharp nose, too cracked tail, or too much powder.What I like about Family Tree is that its basic performance is "not overkill".Although the powder and free riding performance are excellent, the basics are that you can enjoy it all round.It's a board that can be applied to people who want to fly or bounce in freestyle.
The Family Tree series may have a special image, but I think you can enjoy it without any discomfort even if you switch from the freestyle board.For those who have been freestyle in the past, I would like you to try Family Tree as a step.It must be the best opportunity to discover new fun of snowboarding.

The nose is a little taut and soft.Since the tail is short, it is easy to control, and even in a tree run, a small turn is very effective.In the snowy mountains of Honshu, there are often a little tight tree runs, so it feels very suitable for that.I'm riding 142 cm, but it still has enough buoyancy.And the ease of handling when riding the tail is outstanding.In addition, the tip of the tail is cut so it looks like there is no tail, but since you can use the edge to the tip, you can pull the turn firmly even if you carve.Such a place is also very comfortable.

I think Family Tree is a board that includes the part of how to enjoy snowboarding for adults.It's a board for people who want to give priority to "I want to enjoy snowboarding comfortably" such as powder or free run.I was looking for such a snowboard, so I feel like I started riding the Family Tree.The first model I got on was the 2019-2020 STORY BOARD.Actually, I haven't done much to change to various boards until now.I have a strong desire to slip in with a board that suits my feelings.In addition, I like to slide at high speeds on free runs, so I don't want to have a board that can withstand it.That's why I chose a stiff and solid board, but STORY BOARD was just right there.The latest STORY BOARD has entered the regular line, so I started using HOMETOWN HERO, but the ease of handling like a freestyle board was very outstanding.You can landslide firmly, but I think it's attractive that it's very easy to play.
It's not difficult to have a freeline board. I think Family Tree makes me feel that very much.Some people may feel the height of the threshold, like for freeriders, but that's not the case.I used to feel that way before I got on the bike, but when I got on it, my perception changed completely.It's a board that you can enjoy all-round and have the familiarity of being able to ride comfortably.
