Akifumi Hiraoka highcascade INTERVIEWrider-hiraoka
Q. How did you come across Haika?

A. Haika was invited by a professional rider named Shingo Takahashi when he just returned to Japan from overseas about 13 years ago, and it was the first time he participated in this camp as a helper.

Q. What kind of place was Haika? When you first participated?

A. Originally I started snowboarding overseas, but for the first time, I was able to slide with snowboarders from Japan and Japanese professional riders, and it was really refreshing, and everyone said that they would have fun. It was purely fun.

Q. What kind of place is Haika?

A. I wonder if you can enjoy it, I think Haika is almost the same as it was 14 years ago.But my feelings have changed. At that time, I wanted to be good at snowboarding, so I enjoyed it, but I practiced and practiced stoicly. But now, if I'm in good shape, I can do various items such as pipes and jumps, enjoy watching the slipping of foreign professional riders, slipping with foreign campers, etc. It's really interesting to enjoy snowboarding. ..And it's great because there are various activities after the mountain.

Q. What kind of activities do you specifically like?

A. Well, I like skate parks the most, but going to mountain biking, rafting, wakeboarding, etc. are all interesting.I always have 2 sessions so I enjoy the activity about 2 times.I can't say which one is the best, but all the activities are interesting.I enjoyed the surfing tour this year and it's really fun to play with nature.

Q. What does Haika mean to Aki?

A. That's right ~.To put it in a cool way, it really feels like the origin. It's kind of purely fun, it seems that various people, from young children to adults, who are good or bad, can enjoy together through snowboarding. So this time too, the youngest child is a 9-year-old child, the top is a 38-year-old office worker, and there is also an orthopedic surgeon, but if you wear snowboards, everyone can enjoy it together, and if you respect each other Haika thinks that it is a place that reminds us that we can create a wonderful space.

Q. Finally, do you have a message for snowboarders?

A. It's important to be good at snowboarding, but I think that the fun of snowboarding is endless by joining a different group by yourself, going to various mountains, and traveling.Technology is important, but if you meet various people in various places and enjoy various snowboards, you can't stop, so I would like you to enjoy snowboarding in various places. There is no limit to the fun, so let's have fun without getting hurt.

Q. How did you come across Haika?

A. The first image of Haika was that professional riders who watch DVDs gathered and shot with a big kicker, and I had the image of a place I longed for.The reason I actually got to know Haika and got to know him closely was because I opened the Park of High Cascade Japan three years ago in Hakuba Happoone, which I have been in for seven years. There was a slopestyle tournament of the High Cascade Japan, and I won the championship two years ago, and that was the trigger, and the prize at that time was the invitation of 7 yen for one session of the High Cascade. I was able to come to Mount Hood.Under such circumstances, I became very close to the staff of High Cascade and had many opportunities to talk with him, and I learned a lot about Haika and had a great charm, so I am participating in Haika now.

Q. What was your impression when you first came to Haika?

A. When I first came, the time had passed in no time.I was tired from the beginning to the end, but I just thought that I enjoyed snowboarding and activities. As for riding, I was overwhelmed by the fact that the parks are always in good condition and neatly arranged, and the riders who are coming are really idiots that can only be seen in videos and competitions.Meanwhile, I remember being very happy that I was able to slide in the same place. For events other than snowboarding, High Cascade is especially about how campers, staff, and riders can all enjoy themselves. There are events every night, and the relationship between the campers and the staff becomes very close.I think the high cascade is that you keep laughing every day.

Q. How did you come across Haika?

A. The reason I met Haika was that I participated in Haika's camp with Shota Suzuki in the second year of Hood, and I remember it was really interesting to skate and live together for two sessions there.

Q. How was it when you first joined Haika?

A. Because I was with Shota, who was close to my age, it was fun to melt in and slide with various people, and it was fun even after the snowboarding was over.

Q Is there anything you can't taste unless you're a hika?

A. The pipes are so big that they don't exist in Japan, and there are some amazing things, so it's fun to slip.At this time of summer, you can only taste this hika.

Q. What is important about snowboarding?

A. What I think is important is to have fun first. Not only that, but it's also important to have a tournament or shoot, so in the summer I'll come to the Haika camp for a couple of weeks and practice in the pipe.Mens is also a foreign rider who is always slipping, and Mathieu Crépel and Shaun White are also slipping and inspiring with me in the last session.

Q. What is your relationship with highway cards?

A. I'm a high cascade rider, and I'm Japanese with Eisuke Sugiura.I think the most important thing is how much you can tell everyone that Haika is a fun place.

Q. What kind of place is Haika?

A. I think it's a place where you can enjoy snowboarding, recharge yourself with energy, and return to Japan.I think it's such a place for me and everyone.

Q. Finally, do you have a message for snowboarders?

A. I think the most important thing is to have fun in order to be good at snowboarding.I want you to snowboard while always thinking about having fun.So have fun and slip every day.

Q. Why did you bring the high-cascade scene that you are currently doing in the United States to Japan?

A. There are three themes of high cascade: "safety", "safety", and "so fun".After all, the Japanese park scene may be "fun", but I don't think it can be enjoyed unless "safety" and "safety" are firmly guaranteed. In a high cascade park, you can do various things beyond your ability, or because it is "safe" and "safe", you will challenge various things.I wish there was a space in Japan where I could do things that I wouldn't normally be able to do.
And I thought it would be great if there was a high cascade park in the wonderful scenery and snow quality of Happoone, so I brought it to Japan.

Q. What made you decide to hold Haika in Happoone?

A. I've been snowboarding for 18 years and when I first skated on Happo-one, I was overwhelmed by the charm of the mountains. The powder was very good for free riding, the terrain was fun, and there was no park.If there is a safe and fun park on this mountain, why not enjoy snowboarding even more?I thought that was the trigger.Recently, there is a trend of parks and parks, and there is a tendency not to do free riding.I think that I'm only interested in park items, such as jumping with one make-up or rubbing with boxes or rails. After all, I don't think snowboarding will be good without a free run.Well, it's difficult to go for a free run, so if there is the best park in the mountains, everyone will come.On the contrary, the snow quality is so good in this mountain, which is amazing!Such a free run is fun! This kind of terrain is fun!I'm thinking that you will notice.
