Snowboarding x video/photo expression and multiple talents / Konosuke Sugaya

QXNUMX: Which is Mr. Sugaya's home?

Sugaya: Kandatsu Snow Resort.

QXNUMX: As a slide hand photographer, you are active in the style of snowboarding x video/photo expression, but what kind of activities are you doing specifically?

Sugaya: Throughout the season, there aren't many days when I'm not shooting, so I'm always shooting with my brother and polishing my skills so that I can always shoot cool footage. We also use action cameras such as GoPro, but we are also particular about the video, so we also take follow-up shots including B-roll shooting with a single-lens reflex camera. In addition to his own photography, he has also worked on other teams' riders and Kandatsu Snow Resort promotional videos.

QXNUMX: Do you have any motivation for your activities?

Sugaya: At first, my brother and I were shooting each other as a hobby.Every time I shoot more and more, my desire to convey the fun of snowboarding to the world through video grows stronger, and that is what I am doing now.

QXNUMX: Are there any riders who are your main subjects, or are there any people doing sessions with you?

Sugaya: Yunosuke Sugaya is the ambassador of Kandatsu Snow Resort.

QXNUMX: Are there any charms or difficulties that you feel in your activities?

Sugaya: The charm is that the things you create and edit yourself remain as works in the world.Videos can convey more information to viewers than photos or text. The hard part is making the footage tell a story.

QXNUMX: Do you have any future goals or things you want to work on?

Sugaya: I would like to further disseminate the coolness of snowboarding x video, the dual wielding of skiing and shooting to more people.

QXNUMX: Lastly, please give some advice to people who want to do activities like Sugaya-san in the future.

Sugaya: I think it's a good idea to refer to the images of riders that you have in mind. And the first thing is to take a picture.By taking pictures, you can see your own skiing objectively, so not only will you improve your skiing skills, but you will inevitably become obsessed with how to shoot cool skis.
