The third theme: Sawa play technique
Lecturer Rider: Takafumi Konishi

The secret: The trick to playing the swamp terrain as you wish is to brake at the bottom and not slow down.If you lose speed at the bottom, you may not be able to reach the point you are aiming for, so the range of play will be narrowed.Remember that the bottom is basically full carving, and if you slow down, it's at the top of the wall.

Approach in a neutral position while confirming the point you aimed at
Let's plunge with full carving using toe edge so as not to decelerate
Align your body axis with changes in slope and always keep your neutral position
Steer with your front legs while getting on your hind legs and start climbing the wall terrain
Be careful not to get on your forefoot too much as it may cause the nose to get clogged or slow down.
Raise your upper body to jump out into the air, but never stretch your body!
Be aware that if your body floats in the air, you will be in a compact position.
Swim in the air with a stalefish that grabs the heel edge between your feet with your back hand
While checking the landing point, release the grab at the right timing
Lightly stretch your body so that the impact of landing can be absorbed by the whole body.It is NG to stretch out
In particular, the knees of the hind legs are used softly to absorb the impact of landing and withstand G.
Quickly return to neutral position to control the board
By riding the board with the hind legs main, it is difficult to lose balance even with some unevenness
Let's step on the board firmly while looking for the wall terrain to attack next
Make full use of sharp carving to the next point to apply so as not to decelerate
Don't forget to keep adjusting your body axis as the terrain changes in slope.
Keep the neutral position until you reach the exit
With the board facing in the direction of travel, move the backside 360 ahead with your upper body!
If you jump out into the air, you can improve your stability by making your body compact.
It is possible to grab a margin because it was stable without losing speed until the board floated in the air
Grab in a timely manner while calculating the time to landing
If you don't have enough spin, you can adjust it by turning the board with your lower body.
Stretch your body slightly before landing to help absorb the impact of landing
Firmly step on after landing so that the board does not drive
Send your eyes in the direction you are going and return to the neutral position.

"People who know how to run the board are good at playing in these swamp terrains. However, they can't align their body to the terrain of the walls, or they get on their front legs too much and the nose gets stuck and slows down. I think there are a lot of people. In my case, I get on the board with the main hind legs, the front legs slide with emphasis on control, and I am careful not to stretch my body at any time. In other words, keep the neutral position. By continuing, even if the slope becomes uneven, it will be difficult to slow down even if there are ups and downs. Always be aware of the neutral position. But (laughs). If you are conscious of it, the reaction will be delayed. For that reason, I think it is absolutely necessary to slip in. Even when taking actions such as spinning, you can not go at a good speed unless you are in a neutral position up to the exit. That's right. Let's cherish the bottom line. "--- Takafumi Konishi

In the final episode (next week), we will introduce "Gap Strategy" by Yoshitaka Ota.
