This season marks the third year for the head girls team "UNITY," who are active as Japan's top professional riders. Their appearance as they take on new challenges using the skills and experience they have cultivated thus far has inspired many snowboard fans and will surely be a great inspiration for the next generation of riders. We will be keeping a close eye on their remarkable achievements as they aim for even greater heights through their activities and events.
Q1: What kind of team is UNITY?
Yuri:UNITY is the Head Girls athlete team! UNITY means "unity," and we formed the team with the desire to unite and spread the joy of snowboarding, and especially the fun of snowboarding at the park, to as many people as possible through events and activities!
Q2: Do you all normally get together and skate?
Rina:Because Rino-chan and I are in different areas, we don't have many opportunities to ski together, but when we meet, such as the day before an event, we are able to ski together and motivate each other on the challenges we take on, which makes for a really fun time.
Q3: What kind of activities did UNITY do this season?
Yuri:For the 23-24 season, we held a jump and jib lesson on April 4th in the north area of Nekoma Mountain! We will also start off-season activities this year!
Rino:We are planning to hold a jumping lesson at Tohoku Quest on August 8th. This will be our second event since forming the team, so we hope to increase our activities in the future.

Q4: This looks like a fun event!! And it's free!! I have to participate! Please tell us about your commitment to UNITY and what you find rewarding about it!
Yuri:I am committed to using my experience as an athlete to carry out my activities. I am currently holding lesson events, and I feel particularly rewarded when participants have fun while also improving their level!
Rina:Because all of our members are athletes, we haven't had many opportunities to interact with a variety of people until now, but through the group UNITY, we hope to become closer to people!
Rino:I feel rewarded when I see my students becoming more capable in my lessons. I believe that everyone has their own teaching style, so I teach them to learn from a variety of people and find the method that suits them best!
Q5: What do you think of each other?
Yuri: Rina I watch him up close and have a lot of respect for not only his technique but also his way of thinking and approaching snowboarding, which always inspires me! Rino Since we work in different locations, we don't get to see each other very often, but when we skate together at events or photo shoots, Rino is always going all out, so the sessions are super fun!
Rina: Yuri When we were both competitors, we were good rivals who could improve each other. Now, I have a lot of respect for her as she expands the scope of her activities and takes on new challenges. Rino We are close in age, so when I see Rino-chan working hard, I feel like I want to work hard too. When we have a session together, we can challenge each other and improve each other, so it's a lot of fun!
Rino: Yuri, Rina I remember being approached by someone at the Book Off event. I was nervous at the time because I was on a big platform, so being approached by someone made a really good impression on me.
