"Adventure Mountain" opens at Hoshino Resorts Tomamu, where kids can have fun while improving!

Encourage your children to improve
The world's only story-based family slope

The children will naturally improve as they play the story, rescuing the forest fairy "Nipo" from the "Chokkari Daimajin" and protecting the lush forest.

"Adventure Mountain" has opened this season at "Hoshino Resorts Tomamu", one of the largest stay-based snow resorts in Hokkaido. It will run from December 2024, 12 to March 22, 2025. This "Adventure Mountain", which has been running since 3, has established itself in this area as the world's only "story-based family slope" that draws out children's curiosity and spirit of adventure and encourages their improvement.

Children become the protagonists of the story on the mountain, and by completing the 11 missions set within the area, they naturally become accustomed to snow and snowboarding and improve their skills. Various items motivate children, allowing them to improve while playing in a role-playing game-like manner.

This season, the final mission "Special Stage" has been revamped with the cooperation of Gota Miura, a former member of the Japanese men's freestyle skiing mogul team, two-time Olympian, and medical doctor. It has become an even more fun and challenging "Adventure Mountain."

The righteous kids take on 11 missions,
Get better by chasing down the Great Demon God

"Chokkari Daimajin" and the kids. A chase in the snowy mountains

What does "story-based" mean? There is a villain in "Adventure Mountain." The "Chokkari Daimajin" is planning to cut down the trees in the forest to create a slope that is easy to go straight down. In order to thwart this evil plan, children must clear 11 missions and obtain each item to rescue the forest fairy "Nipo" and protect the lush forest.

As they become immersed in the story, children become engrossed in skating and naturally improve their skills while having fun. The program is designed to help children improve their overall skills, including their speed, sense of balance, and board control, by acquiring one letter of the spell to chant to defeat the Great Demon along the way and making the required movements to obtain each item.

"Hmm, can I slide down this slope?" Children's spirit of adventure is put to the test

Here, children will be able to concentrate for longer, which will increase the chances of them improving in a short amount of time.

"Adventure Mountain"RenewalKey Points

1) Visualize the mechanisms and explanations that will help you improve while having fun

Beginners welcome at "Nipo Mountain." Test your skills here first. Gain confidence and move on to the next stage.

The 11 missions to encourage children to improve have meaning.Official Websitehas a special page for "Adventure Mountain" that explains and visualizes each of these. I will only give a brief explanation here, but the basis of "Mechanisms for Improvement" is "Affordance Theory." This is the idea of what actions objects and environments encourage people to take, and what they make possible. Elements of affordance in snowboarding include course conditions, slope, speed, items, shape, snow quality, tools, and accompanying people. The key to improving at snowboarding is to judge these conditions and situations, which vary from time to time, and to ski in a way that suits the environment.

"Forest Maze" - Ski down the natural course and aim for the goal

By understanding the "mechanism" in advance, adults can watch their children grow with ease. For example, in "Forest Maze," by challenging the maze-like course and undulations, children will unconsciously move and control the board in a way that matches the environment, and their overall skills, such as speed and sense of balance, will be improved. In other words, they will literally "improve without even realizing it."

2) The final mission, the "Special Stage," requires comprehensive skills

The "Special Stage" is a challenge from "Chokkari Daimajin." Can you clear the final mission with all your strength?

This season, a new "Special Stage" has been added that brings together all the elements of "Adventure Mountain". This is the final area, and a new challenge to "Chokkari Daimajin" begins here. Will you be able to clear this final mission by utilizing the skiing techniques you have acquired in each mission up to that point? This is where your skills come into play.

"Seesaw Bridge" requires precise speed control and a sense of balance, "Bell Bell" slides while ringing a bell set on a tube ring, "Chokkari Wave Z" accelerates the board by moving up and down, "Challenge Jump" courageously jumps over, and more. To clear the traps in the "Special Stage", not only skill but also a sense of adventure and challenge is required. Can you defeat Chokkari Daimajin at the end? Children's overall strength will be put to the test. It is a special course full of excitement and thrills.
