I participated in Hakuba in the midwinter because there is a fun event of the natural terrain course that is becoming an annual event.Let me tell you the report right away.
Day1
The event is hosted by outdoor wear brand Haglöfs.
On the first day of the two days, a part of the course at Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort will be reserved.
Five or six banks, down jumps, spines, waves, etc. were created on the rugged course that was closed a few days ago.It's a good opportunity to test your ability to slip in, as there are some jumps in the natural terrain that have only a few chances.
Riders such as Keita Yamazaki gather from the Happoone area, including Ken Shibuya, who can be said to be the face of the local Tsugaike, and Masahiro Maruyama, a skier.The judge started with a gorgeous demonstration at the opening.Participants gradually dropped into the fascinating nature course.
The interesting thing about this event is that you can not only ski on the chartered natural terrain course, but also ski, snowboard, and snowbike.It's a great environment to share the fun of skiing in the snow.
After the event, there was a gift from Haglöfs, and there was a one-point lesson with Haglöfs Friends Ken Shibuya, so the time passed happily.
Day2
The next day, I turned around and accessed the backcountry by hiking up from the top lift of Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort.The guide was invited by Satoshi Arakawa, who is based in Hakuba.The weather wasn't very good for a few days, but the party hiked up believing that there was good snow.
If you drop it from the place where you climbed for less than XNUMX hours to the back side of the back, this is good snow again!Everyone was sucked into the slope one after another, having a happy worry about whether to hit the open burn or the backside wall.
Eat a light lunch while watching the sound of the wind and the spectacular view of the Alps in an empty area, and hike up to the point where you can see the slopes again.And today I slipped off the second mellow line and came back to the slopes.Thanks to the guide for attending the good snow and the empty area even in bad conditions!Then, I had a long course, which is a specialty of Tsugaike, instead of dessert and finished.It was impressive that everyone's face was full of moderate fatigue and a sense of accomplishment.
And this event will be held again on January 1th and 27,28th.

This time too, XNUMX days of free riding tournament and BC tour. It is popular every year as an event to rediscover the joy of "sliding in the mountains and snow" and to actually express and embody how to enjoy the winter season of Haglöfs.
As usual, we hold a competition to compete for free riding skills and time using a special non-compacted snow course set up in Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort.This time, we will also hold a backcountry tour the day after the tournament.Guest riders will also appear at the competition to demonstrate, and after the competition, a riding clinic will be held.This is your chance to learn the tips and techniques of free riding.
